I was just thinking here... if I try to make the foolowing char in single player:
20 bone spear
20 bone spirit
20 teeth
20 bone wall
20 bone prison
1 each golem and golem mastery
1 iron maiden and amplify damage
+ a lot to skill levels
+ good items
+ freeze merc
This is supposed to hugely increase dmg from bone spells thru synergy bonuses, bone wall&prison for defense, golem+merc for defense, then cast bone spells+iron maiden.
Do you think this is going to work? In Hell, of course.

Don't put any point into BP and utilize the marrow walks bug :)

Welcome Newcomer to The Darkness. Grab a brew :drink: and feel free to raise some corpses.
This is a standard Bonemancer. They do fine in Hell.
I would however advice to stop using IM and go for either DV, Decrep or Confuse. These curses control crowds. IM does nothing for you.
Put only points in Clay. The other golems are worthless. Clay has a nice slowing ability.

and I'm still a bit worried that approx 2k dmg from spirit is not enough :( .

Marrow walk give 33 (If I remember correctly) to BP if no points are invested

You need more curses to be effective, DV, Attract and most importent - Decrepify. DV is number 1 curse against Burning Souls. And when you combine Decrepify with CG the monsters will almost stop moving.

it will be very hard for your untwinked bonemancer to solo in a 8 player Hell game. But its definitely possible. (Then again, it is pretty hard for any untwinked char).
and no, amp doesnt work for 'bone' spells.

I'll just point out that I have made a Bone necro in single player. He's currently lvl 85 and can hold his own very well, he rarely dies except for carelessness on my part. He uses Bone spear as his main attack and sometimes bone spirit for Act bosses or tough crowds. His skills looks like this:
20 Bone spear
20 bone spirit
20 bone wall
20 teeth
1 bone armour
1 clay golem
1 decrep
1 in all prerequisits
the rest in Corpse explosion
Take note that I did not put points into bone prison, I use the Marrowwalks bug. If you don't plan on using the Marrowwalks bug, then max Bone Prison before teeth. Only 1 point in Bone armour is needed as synergies will make it acceptable.
My necro doesn't use all the top-of-the-line gear and he still does extremely well in solo. Here's a quick run-down of what he uses:
Shako
Skin of the vipermagi
frostburns
arachnid mesh
marrowwalks
'White' runeword in a bone wand with a natural +2 to bone spear
Ravenfrost
SOJrare ammy with +2 psn and bone skilss, faster cast and resists
'Rhyme' head thing with a natural +2 to bone spear
Various charms with resists, mana, life etc.
He does around 3900-4000 dmg with bone spear , and his bone armour absorbs ~930 dmg.
As for stats, it's pretty simple:
Strength: enough for your gear, that's it.
Dex: I went with none, but you can go for blocking if you want, even though it isn't really necessary
Vit: Absolutely everything you can spare, necros don't get much life per point in vit, but it helps alot.
Eng: 75-100, this won't seem like much throughout the earlier levels, but trust me, once you get decent regen you're fine. Plus you need as much in VIT as possible.
I use an Act 2 Def NM merc (Holy freeze), his setup is as follows:
Rockstopper
Hone sundan socketed 'AmnAmnShael'
Shaftstop (Will upgrade later)
Some tips on how to make life easier for your necro:
- USE BONE WALL! I can't stress this enough, bone wall is basically your best source of crowd control, couple it with the AI curses and your set.
- Make sure you have decent resists, some elemental attacks (gloams etc) can make it through your bone wall and are a great danger.
- Keep your merc and clay golem up at all times, they take alot of the heat off of you and let you position yourself better. Act 2 mercenaries can also attack through the bone wall, so that helps too.
- Make use of CE. Especially in Hell, as soon as the first couple baddies drop, just CE until the group is down. (Take note that if you're going to play Norm/NM on a higher players setting ex. players 8, then CE will not be as effective)
- Take it slow. Don't rush into huge groups as it often leads to death. Just let your golem go first, or re-summon him ahead of you.
I hope this helps you out some, and gives you a bit of a perspective of how it will turn out. Keep in mind this isn't an exact build, and you don't need to follow it exactly.

They do not. You can just carbon copy the build if you would like to. The only thing you have to keep in mind is that you should be more party friendly when using BW's.

yes but wouldn't it be more likely to catch more folks in the bigger area, thus, and then it will take less spearz on them to bring em down. if there where more corpse, then a series could bring a mob down. with 1 CE we get up to at most a 4 guys? unless you are talking about wraiths
