View Full Version : Runewords on mercs
Could someone tell me if runewords will work on mercs?
For eg, if I were to equip a2 merc with Crescent, will my enemies have the -% in lightning resist?
Sort of. The enemies will have lower lightning resist, but only against your merc's attacks - yours are unaffected.
Also, mercs can never use any skills other than those they have naturally so charges or +cross-class skills (eg. Teleport) won't help them.
Finally, for some odd reason Prevent Monster Heal doesn't seem to work on mercs.
Any other mods on merc gear should work as expected.

Is this a bug or something? I diden't know about this, but now that you mencion it, I was fighting D Clone the other night, with my Ik barb, and my merc, using a Doom Cryptic Axe was just pounding him, but the clone was still healing like crazy, I just found it wierd because with the amount of pounding that my merc was doing the clone should not have been healing.
Thanks, Shade. Then it's pointless for me to equip my a5 bab with Crescent Col Blade. Argggghhhhh!! Wasted both the sword and the runes!

If it's a bug then Blizzard haven't bothered fixing it, because it's been that way ever since 1.07, IIRC. Guess it's now a 'feature' :grrr:
