Ok so right now my blizz sorce has 150 base vit. and all it takes is a few hits and im dead in NM. I dont even want to think about hell. Currently i have max block with whitstans guard. I was wondering if I should raise my vit or if its fine where it is. Another question is whats the best choice of a shield to achieve max block with. Any solutions or suggestions is highly suggested.

Whistans is the best choice of shield for max block if you dont wanna spend 14515141 points in dex. You can "eld" it too to increase the block. The only problem is whistans has some pretty useless mods, so if you wanted you could max black with viscertaunts (sp?) or something, but like i said, thatll take more dex.

As for ur actauly question, how much life do you have? Are you using a merc? Make sure he is the same level as you, so he can actaully survive/tank. Also, make sure u know when to run, which means a qucik tele away for sorcs

Henfu has a couple good points in his post that should help you (the last sentences of his post).

How are you usually dying? Are you trapped between packs of monsters? Are you dying from elemental attack most of the time? Or physical? Are you lagging often? I think that sorcs should stay behind and attack while the Merc is doing all the tanking and taking hits. If you stay far behind with decent resists, life points, and blocking, you should be able to go through HELL easily, let along NM.

most likely you are dying to boss packs. minions get a lot of the mods the boss generates with now. see www.battle.net/diablo2exp for more info on boss mods.

the big killers now are extra strong/fast, fanat, and elemental enchants. nothing much you can do about the first two, but the third requires some absorbs. i always put tgods, dwarf, and raven on all my playing chars.

Stats - defense, life, mana? chance to get hit?
Items - what other items do you use? do you have any PDR?
