313 pd sc?

Just found off hell shenk, toxic sc of anthrax.
lvl req 55
11 sec duration

1. number wrong or right? i know that displayed pd didn't display properly before, is this just a correct display now? on my cs, it is 256 damage added, but this doesn't sound right either.

2. if it is right, why is it so high? i thought it would need pestilent to break 200.

3. is it bugged?

4. i might put it up on ebay just for fun. what do you figure it would go for?

When a charm has dual mods, you get the sum of the rates of poison and the sum of the durations.

Toxic gives 100 over 5, Anthrax gives 50 over 6. That is a total duration of 11 seconds. The combined rate is 20 + 8.33 = 28.33, and so the total damage is 313 (actually i thought it would be 312, but I take your word for it because I don't have one ;) Maybe there is some +1 thing going on too).

The effect of combined mods makes it even more powerful than Pestilent.

I have no idea what ebayers pay for things these days. I do know it is quite a rare item though. Back in 1.09, the display bug caused these to appear as 290 over 10, the fabled "290s", so this should be worth as much as one of those, probably more so if these aren't being widespread duped yet like 290s were.

1. the number is right. according to tao of poison, you add the two rates, you add the two durations, then you multiply for total damage. that gets you 313.8 damage, truncated to 313, over 11 seconds. The bug in 1.09 maxed duration at 255 frames, which would result in the much maligned 290 spdc.

nope. pestilent of anthrax was the coveted 383 (I have a 383 large charm somewhere that Nihlithak dropped for me once in 1.09). That would be a 451/12 sec in 1.10.

The old 290s of 1.09 were all toxic of anthrax, which could be dropped by any lvl 90 monster, which included cows. That is why I don't think that the 290s were actually duped -- they were significantly less rare than perfect 3/20/20s, but still cost about twice as much if i recall correctly.

I have no idea what ebay items go for, nor do i particularly care, but if it helps I think this should be slightly more valuable than an 1.09 290, because it is my understanding that the 255 frame "display" bug in 1.09 was more than a display bug, it was an actual damage bug.

As for your concern that it only adds 256 damage to your character screen, you almost certainly have another, shorter, source of poison that is keeping you from getting the full duration. Read the Tao of Poison in the Strat Comp. Read it a few times -- it took me a while before I finally completely understood it, i think!

The 451 over 12 you see in Ryshenron's pic is only possible in 1.10.
In 1.09 you could get the same charm, but it would display as 383 over 10.
With the poison mods there is no difference between the charm types, except the clvl at which they can be used.

Pestilent by itself does 175 over 6.

ah cool thanks all. last night i went into channels, and 313's are pretty common, so now i guess all my q's are answered. :)
