I'm curious as to how this works.
Is there a %/level ratio. How does the Freezes Target +X, effect the % and duration?
Does it stack?
Do dual wielders get the bonus from 1 weapon or 2?
What's the effect of a 6Cham (expensive) weapon?

here's a thread with some of that discussion. Also Here's some info from AS:

Iceblink: Ice Blink has a 13-50% Chance to work. Ice Blink works with Ranged Weapons. This is not displayed on the item.
Freeze Time in seconds = (100 + CharacterLevel*2)/25
The minimum Freeze Duration (at Character Level 1) would be 4.08 seconds, and maximum (at level 99) would be 11.92 seconds. Freeze Length is reduced to 1/2 and 1/4 on Nightmare and Hell.

It comes from the normal unique item section with Iceblink. The oldschool spear barb armor of choice (blinkbat for PvP)... ahh the good old days.

Yes, that is the end result.

Let me restate my question.

What is the formula that includes the X in "Freezes Target + X" for:

%chance to freeze target
duration

Could Ice Blink have a Freezes Target value of 2? Does the formula follow:
Freeze Time in seconds = ( 100 + CharacterLevel * X ) / 25 ???

I've been told that Ice Blink has a Freezes Target value of +1. Cham I could never get confirmation of what the +3 is for... so I have the same question that you do...

Duration or Chance to cast?

Just found it on AS under Special Magic Effects:

Hit Freezes Target
This bonus is pretty obvious. Items with Hit Freezes Target has a chance to Freeze Targets. Formulae:

The chance of freezing is 50 + (AL + (B*4) - DL) * 5
AL = attacker level
DL = defender level
B = freeze bonus from item (default is 1)

if it's ranged, the AL has a -6 penalty.
if it's ranged, the chance is divided by 3

freeze length = (chance - roll) * 2 + 25 frames
with a minimum length of 25 frames (1 second) and a maximum length of 250 frames (10 seconds)

So by the looks of it the +X is chance to freeze. You start out with a 50% chance to freeze and with +8 you have a 100% chance to freeze someone 22 levels higher than you

cool. So if you have a freeze value of 7, you will have 100% chance to freeze target as long as it is not over 18 levels higher than you. At 6, level difference of 14. At 5, level difference of 10. At 4, level difference of 6.

What is the roll thing? What values can it have?

A Cham Frostwind with give you that 100% freeze even for disparate level. A cool way to go for a char with good speed. Whirlwind barb, wolf dr00d, and assn.

roll is rnd(100) for values 0 - 99. It's used to see if the target gets frozen: if it's higher than the chance to freeze then nothing happens, but if it's lower then the target is frozen, and the roll is used to calculate freeze length.

I'd be more interested in the ranged applications... Ugh more upped cham'd burritos. Then again the MultiShot zon has virtually dissapeared and inheirently this is good mainly for PvM... Maybe we'll just see them on HC

Multi-shot would be definitely cool. Would just need to watch the level differences, and the freeze length would be reduced dramatically.

3cham3ber Bow? Hmmmmm....Expensive, but effective.

There's a nasty CB penalty on ranged... so you might want to take that into account. Also, you can up a Buriza and use CB from the armor or you can decide between Cham or Ber.

I guess if you had a witchyzon you can always put one of each in it. I wouldn't go overboard with the Cham since Freeze target doesn't work in PvP... er it doesn't freeze only chills. PvM all you need is patience and one Cham or Freezes target bonus
