Frenzy?

I'm kind of a newbie here, so I apologize for what might seem like a stupid question, but.. is Frenzy really that great?

The barbarian I've been working on just reached the level where he could take the skill, and frankly it's not very effective. The attacks are actually slower than Double Swing attacks (and it takes a lot longer to mow through groups of enemies using Frenzy).

imho, it's the maybe 9th best of the 11(?) barb combat skills, ahead of stun and leap attack. it gets interrupted too much for my taste. also, it's very slow ias-wise. you need a ton (like 200%) extra ias to reach the max (maybe 120-150% after the frenzy ias bonus) fpa which is only 5. also, you have to have around 15 points into it to see any effect.

don't rebuild just because of that though. go ahead and try all of them, maybe get +10 or so in +skills eq just to see how they work.

I'm thinking of maxing Bash and Double Swing and just using those (Bash for the damage added to Double Swing). I like the way it's working so far, and as long as it doesn't stop working I see no reason to change it.

I'm just wondering exactly what the benefit of Frenzy is supposed to be over Double Swing. Frenzy adds to damage, and what it adds to attacks adds up higher than Double Swing, but the slow attacks seem like a pretty big set-back. At level 20, is the attack speed bonus enough to make it equal Double Swing?

if u havent maxed frenzy yet then you dont know its full potential, at early levels it is slow, also it appears worse if the speed of your weapons isnt too high. imo. i would max it and get 2 very fast weapons like dual lightsabres for starters (if you're sword barb, these are cheap) then see what frenzy is like, its speed is good. at lower lvls try to charge with frenzy and switch to double swing if u like speed ;) nice idea but wont have enough dmg at higher lvls, thats my 2 cents anyway

Charged up frenzy makes you run like a speed freal as well.

frenzy is supposed to do more damage than double swing, but yes, because of speed, i think ds does more (both fully synergized.)
