Is it possible to live without ar% and ed% of a mastery and use daggers? I was thinking on a fleshripper frenzy barb and making it more singer/frenzy than ne other frenzy type. Along with cb deadly strike and ow these have -50% target def and the fact that the dex on my barb would be pretty high as daggers get ed for more dex. The dex investment would also allow me to gain back some ar i may need.

Ne suggestions comments would be welcome:D

I alson have a dual dagger frenzy-barb. I use Fleshripper and Ghostflame. It rocks!

I put points in dex also. Just for AR, i didn't know that u gained ED for daggers????

Its is a cool build (especially the comments u get: why don't you use BotD??)
but the fleshrippers costs tons of gold to repair...

no mastery for daggers. i think daggers get .75% ed per str + .75% ed from dex like throwing weps, not sure.

I made a dagger frenzy barb with 2 * fleshripper too. I pumped Dex alittle more , just for ed and ar. He has like 10k ar , and does quite the dmg. This is also because of my charms though. He rips through just about everything , looking in style. :P

I am also makin a frenzy dagger barb of my own. But I plan on using dual FURY rune daggers with 2 Elite Kris'.

I should be able to reach slvl 35-40 in Frenzy with the 20 mx pts into Frenzy, +10 to Frenzy from the runewords, and another couple of pts from + to skills items. Frenzy is synergized with Double Swing and Taunt. At slvl 20 I'm getting an extra 320% to damage with an extra 8% to damage for each additional point in DS and Taunt. For AR I was hoping that I could make up for it by having Frenzy up to slvl 35-40. At slvl 20 Frenzy adds about 233% to your A/R. Hopefully, Frenzy doesn't have diminishing returns above slvl 20.

Btw fury runeword is waaay out of my way to get a measly 219 ed i think? when fleshrippers i have are 230+ a peice which is the same ed and you get alot more mods.Which i think counter the +5 frenzy bonus and the EXTREMELEY hard runes to get legitly.

I compared the stats on Fury and Fleshripper, and I find that the Fury has some advantages over Fleshripper. It has 40% IAS, Prevent Monster Heal, Ignore Target Defense, 66% Open Wounds, 33% Deadly Strike and 6% Life Leech, and of course +5 to Frenzy ea weapon and 20% A/R ea weapon.

My main goal is to maximize Frenzy (35-40 pts), IAS, Max W/R speed, and get DS as high as possible. If I can find some CB equipment I'll use that too. I'll probably have to do some MFing and rune running with my MF FO/FW Sorc. I still want to find a set of Fleshrippers as a weapon switch and hopefully I can find enough mid to low level runes to start upgrading for a 2 Jahs and 2 Guls. Or maybe I'll get lucky and 1 or 2 of those will drop while I play.

Right now I'm at lvl 21 and leveling up seems to be going along slowly. I have 2 Kris' with 2 sockets each, and I have the urge to mule over some P Emeralds to my dagger-Barb to help him kill a little faster. I'll try to hold off on doing that until things start to get really hard though.

EDIT: also I think this was covered before in one of the tuts or guides. But Max double swing ASAP, because at around lvl 10-ish DS no longer uses any mana My ds skill lvl is at 15 right now and it's been readind -1 for mana since about slvl 11 or 12.

I would pick fleshripper over fury because of the higher %ed , the -50% defense (this makes up for the loss of no mastery) and the 25% CB. You hardly need any IAS with fanged knifes to hit 5 fpa frenzy anyway , so that 40% on fury isn't going to do that much. 54% IAS with a lvl 24 frenzy (counting arreat in already)

That's shael + highlord's + 15% IAS jewel in your arreat or so. Or IAS gloves.

My goals probably are probably different from steve2677. I am going for the highest possible frenzy level, IAS and W/R level. I just realized one thing though when I read the first part of your sentence about ED%. Assuming that Frenz is not capped at 20 and that it theoretically goes all the way up to 255 then the +5 bonus that FURY gets adds extra ED and A/R to the Barb.

From slvl 1 to 20 the increase in damage and A/R appear to be fixed at +5/lvl (ED) and +7/lvl (A/R). So in a way a dual wielding FURY barb is getting an extra 50% to ED and 70% to A/R if he has two FURIES equipped. So if I can get enough + to skills items I may be able to get my Frenzy to lvl up to 40. At that level I will be doing 285% ED and 373% to A/R, assuming that ED and A/R dont have diminishing returns above slvl 20. I also plan on synergyzing skills by maxing taunt and DS, which at slvl 30 (after + skills) should give me an extra 480% to damage.

But like I said, my goals are max speed, and max frenzy pts. Steve may be looking for a more well-rounded Barb with gear that is easier to find, unlike my dual FURY knives which are gonna be hard to make. Either way, I'm gonna be excited to see how both of our Barbs turn out.

EDIT: on a side note, my Barb is at lvl 22 now, and I wanted to see how he would perform with my Iceblink armor which I have been storing on another mule. So far he is doing well in the Canyon of the Magi. But I would think that he should have been up to lvl 24-25 by this point.

Good luck finding 2*jah and 2*gul (cubing would be hard too, you'd need hundreds of low-mid runes). Fury daggers look very good, but I doubt you could make two of them legitly. Because putting fury in daggers has practically no tradevalue (there really arent a lot of people who use daggers, and *certainly* not Fury daggers), and unless you're very rich I don't think wasting 2*jah is an option. So 2*fleshrippers looks like the best option, affordable and imo even better then 2*fury daggers. Just my 0.02$ ;)

And the loss of %ar because of the +10 frenzy you don't have with fleshrippers , can be made up with the fact that fleshripper has -50% defense , instead of the -25% from fury. :P

Finally , the running speed really has some deminishing returns , which means that +10 more frenzy isn't going to help you much at all when it comes to running speed.
