Upgrading Weapons/Armor?

I beleive there was a topic on this before, but I just wanted to know how it's done. I know it's Ladder, and I want to get soem good upgraded items before the Ladder resets.

the ladder resets? what does that mean? am I going to loose my character that i use on b.net?

No, when the ladder is reseted all the current ladder characters just become non ladder chars, you don't lose them.
