Conc Barb sword options?

Hi

I'd like a few opinions regarding sword choice for my conc barb plz folks. He is currently about lvl 65 and i was planning to use a Shael'd 247 GF. But whilst i was mf'ing with my sorc i found a crappy Doombringer and that got me thinking would a doom be better?

My set up atm:

Arreats 197/6 - with IAS/AR jewel in
Duress Dusk 13xx def - probably not the best choice, but i had to make the runeword for some char - and it looked better than the upp'd "um'd" Shaft i was going to use. I probably should have made it in a higher def base item, but i wanted to be able to use it on other chars.
SS - IAS/P res jewel
Gore Riders
Verdungos 37/15
Laying of Hands - also have draculs etc but i'd need the IAS for the GF
Highlords
Raven 19/2xx
Rare 5/5 leech 16 str ring

Keep in mind i am on Ladder - so a BotD & 40/15's etc are not going to happen anytime soon. I also considered a Cresent Moon in a nice fast base sword. :scratch:
This char is just for fun really, no real pvp / bvb or pvm aims, i just fancied trying out a conc barb.

I own the GF, and have the runes for the Cresent Moon, and could trade easily for a better Doom, as the one i found had ~ worst possible stats :(

I say grandfather because of the stats which will almost if not completely make up for the 20% life, and the way higher damage which will make up for the leech lost. Which advantage were you seeing?

Dunno really :scratch:, the % cast weaken and the 20% life got me thinking that i may need to consider a Doom, plus the LL already on the Doom would give me a little more flexability with my gear - or more LL to keep me alive.
Looking at some of the replies to Hal's Conc guide, a few seem to use a Doom on their sword barb, and skimming through i found almost no mention of a GF.

I think i'll try my crappy doom at 69, and then try the GF at 81 and see which is better - but more opinions would be greatly welcomed.

You'll probably find you're not doing enough damage with Doom once you get in later hell. GF is alright, but it's lack of IAS makes it hard to get to a decent frame with it (like 10). I personally would make a CM Balrog Blade, since it has nice base damage and speed, and the static field owns.

I made a crescent moon zerker axe and it was on par (killing speed wise) with my first botd (non-eth zerker), even though it had 100 base dmg less. A good crescent moon weapon will take you through act 5 hell and be a nice weapon until you can get a high-end runeword. Just watch those repair costs for crescent moon, they can be steep.

from Hal's guide i thought 90 IAS would be acceptable - and about the best i can aim for with a Col Blade, i'll drag him to lvl 81, and if the GF blows i'll find a 3 sox Balrog blade and CM that.
