LLD builds

hi, im going to a huge (400 people) lan on the weekend, and want to get a group for low level duels, as the characters are much quicker to build than high ones. we wont have access to great items or anything, just want some fun. Ive never lldueled before so was wondering what builds work and are fun, and what to avoid (if it will unbalance).

also, what is the realistic lowest level a dueler can be to be useable and fun (ie not just run and hack)?

you could try a charger pally. nice damage+easy to make and what not. good range three weapon + pally only shield with some useful mods. deaths belt is pretty much a must for any character. combos well with the gloves, too. fireball/blizzard sorcs work well. Basically, pick a skill and get the stuff to go with it. It is your best bet to getting through a lld scene.

I have had some experience in lld for some time now.
A. Druids for lld require tooo much specific stuff (I wouldnt make one)
B. Pallys are easy and quick to make, and (better yet) dont require too much for lld. Because of serious boost with might aura.
- Chargers work really really well... however that is also a run and hack type of offense.
- Zealers are alright also, but wont nab you the high damage like charge
- Smiters are bad either, although might need quite a few more specific stuff to duel with. (Might not be best idea)
C. Jabing zons are easy enough to make, and also you wont get ragged on (like a charger)
D. I wouldnt also advise making a bow zon, would require too much.
E. Barbs are always good (Concentration that is)
F. Assassins work really well also. You might try tiger strike (lot of damage)
D. Sorcs and Necros are alright. Might require too much mana for not having great stuff. (Cold might work well however, especially if people cant get death's belt :idea: ) AND, you can get a rather nice blizzard attack :thumbsup:

Basically if you go with a melee i would advise going to under 30 (perhaps 29)
If you go with non melee try lvl 30.

Deaths belt is a VERY VERY good thing to have, if possible.

The Best advice though is too get class specific things, if you can , ie barb helms, druid helms, pally shields, orbs, staves, and necro shields. AND sockets are a good thing. More the merrier. And, Load up on as many max damage things as you can (KEY) if melee.

If you are worried about unbalanced....Charge "may" be considered. I got a lvl 22 that hits 3100 max damage. And I am not even done yet.

One very key thing about lld though. Everyone will complain about every build someone makes on lld though. Sooooo dont pay attention, :innocent:

thanks for the replies, good detail. realistically making a few level 30 characters with good gear in a short time will be a little difficult, so i was hoping for someone with ideas from level 6 to 12ish.

deaths belt wont be too hard though, but remember this is lan so there will be no realm trading, all offline.

the charger sounds alright, by hack and slash i meant stand and normal attack each other to death, not too fun! level 12 to 18 might be the range im thinking about, a nice set of skills.

if anyone has fun with pre level 18, ie only level 12 skills and knows good builds i would be interested.

Level 6 - 8 can't duel and realistically level 9's will be too hard to get at a LAN party. A level 12 charger would be your best bet, or a level 18 TSsin.
