I hear a lot of people talk about channels but what are they and how do we access them?

Channels are only found on Bnet so if you play single player, it doesn't apply. They are basically chat rooms. When you log onto Bnet, click the "Channel" tab, and then choose the channel you want to join. Then you can chat with whoever else is there.

I play on bnet.

Now, I know what the channel is but where do I select other channels.

On the right side, somewhat towards the bottom of the screen (after entering the chat) there is a button called "channel" (or channelS, I can't remember).

Or you can type "/join CHANNEL NAME"
