Hello. Let me introduce myself. I’m Sigus (as the name above says) and I’ve played Diablo 2 since the UK release. I’m a member of a clan called The Order of the Squid or just Squid for short.

We are expanding the clan and making a new division called Squid University. It is for all those new players out there who would like to learn the game or players who want to make friends on the Europe Realm (please take note of this, it is Europe only).

This is what we are offering members:-
Advice
A Broad Social Group
Starter Equip
Magic Find Gear

There is a BUT though. WE ARE NOT OFFERING THE EASY PATH FOR BEGGARS. We are not offering high lvl equip, MF gear… we are giving you new players a hand up. I will rush your new char’s, play Magic Find games with you and ultimately give you the chance at greatness with the satisfaction that you found your own items.

The last thing we offer is a chance of becoming a full member of the clan itself. Its an old clan with a rich history behind it. We are not 14 year old player’s just after emptying your acc’s. I’d like to say we are a clan of class. Below is a link to the clan page. There you can view our history, members and rules. You will be only offered full membership if over 18, but younger players are welcome in Squid U.

We are Europe. I see your Australia so it wouldnt matter what realm you played on... if you aint rich it wont matter about moving as we can set you up.

I'm tempted to. I'm on USWest ladder but only started playing about a month ago (after a long break), only level 50 some with no friends and somewhat mediocre equipment.

What times do you guys normally play? I'm a night owl.

Well a few members are there round the clock. Personally I play from early afternoon to around 5am... Im a real addict. So even with the time difference there should not be a problem.

Thankyou all for the interest so far. People are e-mailing me with a few questions and a few are joining up for the pleasure. Im not sure how big this is going to get, but the bigger the better in my mind.

I will now post a little Q/A for those regular questions-

Q) What Realm you guys on?
A) Europe only, but I urge clans on the other realms to start similar projects up.

Q) Whats This Magic Find you are offering?
A) There is a satat on some items called Magic Find or MF for short. The more the better usually. If you kill a creature with higher MF there is a better chance of a unique or above average equipment.

Q) What starter equipment you offering?
A) We are not a charity. We are doing this to help the new player ajust to the game and make their own way. Most of the full Squid members have accounts full of equipment they dont use and yes, some of this might be good stuff. But in general youll get what you deserve.

Q) Are you allowing in more experianced players?
A) Yes. I would prefer a few actually. This would allow them to advise the new players if Im not around or try and get people together for group projects.

Q) Who is the leader or leaders?
A) Squid do not beleive in leaders as such. We vote on everything and ideas are brought foward by any individual. But if we were to but a name on it Fearox and Drakghar are the oldest members.
Squid U will be different though Im afraid. I am the Dean and I will appoint some Teachers. This is so we can know the players who need help and those who can give help... but dont think of teachers or me as a higher rank, we are just here to help and have fun with.

Thats all for now. We will welcome people off any realm if they are willing to transfer, if you do you will recieve a little care package to set you up. But we expect you to hand out your stuff to newbies on your own realm. Time different should not be a problem because of mine and Fearox's games practises.

I will also stress one thing. We do not accept stealing, fighting (other than PvP :lol: ) or any other bad behaviour. If there are complaint they will be taken seriously. We do want a nice group after all.

Very nice. Really a pity u guys are in Europe. But i've got 4 accounts in Asia realm where i play, not really willing to forgo my friends back in Asia to join Europe :)

Well personally I play non-ladder for PvP and ladder for pleasure. Alot of the same goes on within the clan... I dont think we have an player thats exculsive either way.

Nice web site guys. Almost makes me want to join up from USA but I wonder about ping and lag. I have used MH in past (1.09) but it is a cheat and I never have felt otherwise. Think I will give it a go.. its good to co-op with legit and considerate players.

My DSL's been acting up so I played with 26.4k dial-up (from Indiana) tonight...lag wasn't an issue. I'd notice a slight delay here and there, like when going through portals, but I'm talking really slight...1/4 of a second max :)

Well its upto you. I am having alot of interest, more than I ever realised I would get. Over 20 aplicants and getting close to 30. Not everyone is what we are looking for, but the majority are taking this serious (one or two are asking if I can give them high rune words if they move from the US to play with us).

This is becoming a good sub-community and I will get a meeting ready in the clan channel soon so people can meet me, Feaorx and the other members.

Channel we use alot is Op Squid... although finding us there might be a rare event indeed, we are usally killing baal or each other.

One thing that might interest older player is we play team PvP:)

I would like to thank all invovles thus far. Im still sorting out to organise clan games (maybe all members using MSN etc).

Another thing is the full Squid members have all pooled together to make a new acc for the starters. Its more than I hoped... its not just low lvl gear. But then again I suppose you can end up with too many occ's etc. I would like to thank those who donated and helped organise this:)

I really like what i've read about the clan, and you also got some hilarious screenshots on your site. I'm very experienced at d2, but i have been offline for about a year now, but i might just get online this weekend... The problem is i'm only 16 years old (17 by the third of june) and you have to 18 to join. I also noticed that you also have a danish player in the clan, and i myself are danish... My english is decent (At least i think it is ;))

Don't worry, iNsoMniaC. There are no age requirments for Squid University. The University and the clan are two different things. We might have to be clearer about that part.

My one question is why the age limit?

I'm 16, but I've been playing D2 for 2 years now, I have a lvl 79 sorc. with 407% MF and lots of spare gear. I always give away good stuff to my friends, I used my stuff to trade MF gear for my friend, and I give away +skill GCs to my friends who asked for them.

I also play on US West Ladder, so I don't think I'd be interested in joining anyways, unless you opened a US West branch, then I'd be very interested. Amazing site you've got there too, kudos to the webmaster. I myself do webdesign (http://www.rcthaven.com ^.^), and I think whoever made that did an excellent job.

Please. I must stress for you to read my first post in this thread properly. There are no age limits on Squid U, just the established part called Squid (not the U part;)).

Reason for this is we have had some bad experaicnes with 'younger' players and this is our sancuary now. There are players in the main Squid Core that joined fo the reason they never have to see public games and thus avoid 'younger' players. I know it does not seem very nice to do that, but until a little while ago there wasnt even an age limit, until events forced our hand.

There are alot of good player out there that are under 18 and since Squid U has started Ive met some of them. Sadly for yous under 18 the majority of 'your people' are nasty, petty and name callers. Same could be said for 18 plus like, but there are fewer older players and easier to sort out.
