Hello i was going to make a blizz sorc for mf and i was wondering, if I put an Eld rune (+7% block) in ss would that save me more stat points than -15% req? Thanks!

my gut says the eld, but i'm sure somebody will come in with exact numbers.
ps. i always go with resists, usually pdiamond. ideally, i would go with -15/15 all res, or, since cold and lightning are so large on the shield, maybe a rare with fire/poison res >40.
If you want to spare some skill points try to put a nice rare jewel -15% req to stormie. If you get a good one save it. I have one -15% req, + 12 mana, + 8 STR, + 6 DEX and 16% PSN res socketed to my stormie. Much better than HEL.
good luck.

It's a dirty job, but someone's got to do it. :D
At lvl 80:
Dex needed for 75% CTB with SS: 195
Dex needed for 75% CTB with Eld'd SS: 178
Dex points saved: 17
At lvl 85:
Dex needed for 75% CTB with SS: 206
Dex needed for 75% CTB with Eld'd SS: 188
Dex points saved: 18
At lvl 99:
Dex needed for 75% CTB with SS: 237
Dex needed for 75% CTB with Eld'd SS: 216
Dex points saved: 21
Str needed for SS: 156
Str needed for -15%req SS: 133
Str points saved: 23
As you can see. It's better a freedom jewel than an Eld rune. Even if it's a plain jewel.
Job done (I guess ;))
