I am currently playing a FOH pally for PVM with some friends.
I am not sure on some things and was wondering if anyone can tell me if they have tried it and proved it works.
I am useing conviction at about -110 to enemy resistances now. When I turn it off however I still seem to kill at the same rate as I do with it on in nightmare players 8. I was concerend about even useing it due to the skill description on the summit. It says "Fist of Heavens ignores resistances of Undead and Demons." I am affraid that it will just always attack undead and demons as if they have 0 resist, wheater I have conviction on or not.
Can anyone help me out here? How does it work?
I am also planning on useing the Cresent Moon rune word for an extra -35% Lightning Resist. Will this actually work as well, or will resistance always be 0 with this skill?
Thanks for the help.
Different enemies have different amount of lightning resistances. Depending on which monster you try on they will take different amounts of dmg from foh.
I played a foh pally a while ago and i killed faster with conviction in most cases. not all as some monsters allready has very bad resistances against lightning.
Cresent moon is a very good weapon for foh and the -res does work. However, for pvm i'd rather try to get more foh dmg as conviction lowers resists enough in pvm.

Towards the beggining of the PvM scene it MAY seem that conviction does nothing because your enimies resistance is base nothing. But as you get into later nightmare and definately the end of hell, you will notice you will need -% resist to tickle, let alone kill anything.

I was planning on 20 FOH/20HShock/20Convic/20HShield. Any other points were going to go to either defiance or HBolt. Any suggestions?
Thanks

I thought that the whole point of conviction was to lower their resists to negatives to make them take even more damage.
So if I am currently doing 2200-2300 then with -100 conviction it's like doing 4400-4600. Of course that's on a 0 lightning resist monster to start with, but even if they start at 50, my convic puts them at -50. Or is there a limit to how negative a monster can go?
I tested in Nightmare act 3 on the Flayer Shamen.
With Convic and Cresent Moon on it took 2 hits to kill the upper guy.
Without Convic and Cresent moon it still took 2 hits and it seemed like the bar dropped to the same spot on the first hit.
Maybe I need to find somethig that takes 3 hits to kill to test on. I was testing on players 8 BTW.
Any way I am wondering if it even works...especially on undead and demons since their resistance doesn't matter according to the text description. Or is that only for the HolyBolt portion of the spell?
I guess either way it works out...because I will be able to strip immunites for my friends even if I am not boosting my own damage.
I wish there was a way to get damage text.
