he is a mother f'er to kill and i can't kill him. I've tryed to kill him with all my clan members. they are all over lvl 75. I'm only lvl 71. we all had to leave the game because none of us could kill diablo clone. So i need to know how to kill him in case he come to another one of my games.
Me and 3 of my friends killed him in less than a minute and a half. You will need something that prevents monster heal to fight him. Also, fire and lightning resist help. DClone happens to have 95% resist all.
Yep - PMH is VERY important if U don't have godly damage....All U have to do is hit him once melee w/ anything PMH and he'll never regen again....
Would that make a Cold Sorc a good choice, since the Cold Mastery will counteract the Cold resist?
I dont play a sorc too much, but wont you still have to deal with the other 3 elements and his attacks too...

Wolv hit it on the head. If you cant dish out godly damage, prevent moster heal is your best bet. Another option is to have a character in your group that can deal a significant amount of poison damage. Also having max resists on your chars help alot.

That's exactly the point, and why I put on Hawinins belt for that fight.

A TK/ES sorc should be able to tank Dclone pretty well...static him down to almost nothing and then let the other chars finish him off. I had the same problems trying to kill Dclone with my barb...leech resistance made it impossible for my barb to kill him and keep himself alive, so I bailed on the game on got a sorc to do it.

You know of a weapon that has this and ITD on it? Was looking for one to recommend but couldn't find...would be perfect for all classes if it had low enough rqr's :flip:

As for d clone goes, he isnt too hard if you know what your doing. I had a cold sorc with max orb and mastery. Wore guardian angel, 2 dwarfs and a tgod. Just stood in front of him and orbed him without getting hurt.
Lilly, I think only rares can spawn with those 2 mods, because if I remember correctly ITD and PMH are both suffixes. Correct me if im wrong though, anyone.

So, you and all of your clanmembers were there, and you didn't kill him? The first time I killed DC it was with a frenzy barb with dual Nords, and a Meteorb sorc was helping me. We didn't have PMH, we did have good mercs to distract him some time. And we won. Did they make DC better or something, because lately I've been seeing a lot of these "cant kill DC threads", but imo he isnt that hard to beat. Not trying to flame your or anything, i'm just curious...

wouldn't a character with PMH + a crapload of % chance of open wounds, do very good vs Dclone ? only thing u had to do then is survive his attacks

The best way to kill pretty much anything you can't deal with on your own... get someone to tank and get a Sorc with Static Field to constantly hit Dclone (or any other uber monster lol) while the other(s) blast away at him.
Works a treat in Baal runs too

I've had to help a high level orb sorc (92 I think she was) take him down its just a matter of your character set up. If you try with a level 71 char with mid level gear or a 95 level char with same problem, its probably not going to work. But if someone says my level 71 char can't take him down, should it be a real suprise? Its like saying my level 15 char can't take down norm baal but people don't say that, no, because they know with the right strategy they can take him down once they get better gear and stronger.

Offhand I can't think of any, nor would I recommend strictly using a weap w/ pmh (unless BoTD) since there are plenty of other weaps out there that deal better damage.
Have a weap w/ pmh as a secondary weap. Hit him w/ it once, then switch to yer reg weap/reg attack. He will not regenerate again. A common misconception may be that peeps think they have to use a pmh weap at all times to prevent, and this is not true.
I used to charge w/ a hammerdin wearing Natures Peace and smack him w/ my Hoto first, then hammer.
HoD - DC wasn't made harder. He's just tuff to beat when U don't have a good setup. My Hammerdin doesn't even need pmh anymore - he whoops him solo w/ a pre-smackdown ritual of Holy Shield, CTA switch for warcrys, then switch back to Hoto for 15k hammertime. Drops in 30 sec or less and mebbe drink a pot or two.

Has anyone else heard or seen this?

Thats because you have to PHYSICALLY hit him when wearing Natures Peace. Casting spells (Blizz, hammer, etc) will NOT trigger the Prevent Monster Heal effects of Natures Peace. Thats why I said in an earlier post that my Hammerdin wearing Natures Peace would Charge DC w/ hoto til he scored a hit, THEN switch to hammers and kill him....

:howdy: PMH is yer friend. Also, if a sorc is in-game, static him to half.(can only get to half, I thought) Also, any character that can lower his resists is very helpful. A tank is great to have, for taking the abuse. Also, remember to max yer resists, and try for fire and light absorb gear.
I have seen many builds which are viable against him, and most don't require "high end' or "uber" gear. Good luck, and stay in the game next time.
I see people asking for help in the community forums all the time. Most get someone to come help, and not take the charm....... :yep:

So maybe the best party is perhaps a avenger with draculs or a exile for life tap, weapon with PMH and then a bunch of sorcs.

Yeah, that's what I meant...having it on switch or in inventory :) What's BoTD btw? (I should know this but drawing a blank ^_^)

hey man same time posts
Sorry to hi-jack, but I have a question on the topic of PMH:
Would PMH on a merc still work if the merc hits, or does the character itself have to hit with a PMH weapon?
--Project
hey man same time posts
 just noticed that.
Anyway PMH needs to have a physical hit to start, so it should work with a merc other than the act 3 ones.

A very popular char for killing dc is a hammerdin - crazy damage, crazy resistances and life. People brag about 30second kills, etc.
I've never made a hammerdin, i can howeverr beat him without much difficulty with my blizzard sorc. - Ormus +3blizzard, snowclash, soj, dwarf star, tals amu, infernostride, hell mouth. 2 cold skillers (dont feel like wasting something to trade for more, coz i dont much of a differnce to me)
Grand Total: around 6k damage, 85 fire resist, 30 fire absorb, 75 light res.
I just run around him in circle dropping Blizzard on him. This way i dodge almost all of his hits (the nova thingy is the reason i even bother with fire resist/absorb) and he stays still. xD
~3-5 minutes and 14 healing potions. I dont bother with getting more efficient - thats already good.

Is this silly but with my hammerdin doing 5100, 70 fcr. I killled the clone not easily but without much trouble in the pit in a few minutes.
In another game spawned with two players (a useless sin) I couldnt really do any damage compared to the life regen when I spawned him as rak in act 5.
If you can push 8000 damage then its an easy victory or do like I did and static him and keep it going whilst your team mate whittles down the energy bar. My sorc did incredible damage with some pretty crummy gear using static.
