Hey everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself as a newcomer to D2 and the community :) I hope to have a fun time here and im looking forward to getting to know all of you over time.

I just bought the game a week ago and I have an account (SirNicholas_M) on USeast ladder with a char. named "dahli" (lvl18 paladin) withOUT the expansion, so feel free to say hi to me if u see me and i'll try my best to do the same :) Im still gettin used to all the abbreviations heh theres a lot, and i have a lot to learn so i hope ya'll can help me out from time to time

If you enjoy the game and are sure you will for a time, I suggest you buy the expansion. It's not that expensive and there are a LOT more players on D2X (expansion) than on D2C (Classic, whithout expansion). Because of that, most of the information here on the forums is based on D2X, both trading and strategy-wise. Also the expansion adds a lot of nice features.

Welcome to the forums and the game. D2 Classic is a lot of fun, If you plan on getting the expansion at some point, I'd suggest getting it now. Almost everything is different in the expansion, even effective character builds, as a build that works in classic will probably not work in the expansion. Plus, if you learn everything now about classic you'll have to relearn everything for the expansion, and then some.

Don't get me wrong, I played classic first and am very happy I did, it teaches you the basics etc. but learning classic first then going on to the expansion means a considerable investment of time will be required as you'll have to basically learn the game twice.

Either way, enjoy the game, it's awsome.. definitly my favorite game ever made!

Yup that's possible, just uncheck the "expansion"-checkbox when making a new char. The chars you have now will remain D2C-characters until you use the convert to expansion-feature. which is a one-way process.
But, as I said before, playing D2C is not recommended :lol:

If you get the expansion I have an account on East you can have (the chars were made in 1.09 patch so not really useful in 1.10, and are obviously non-ladder [that was a feature added in 1.10])...it has some decent equipment. Shako, shaftstop, and the like. Nothing uber, but definately helpful for a beginner! Let me know~

Hey Lily I just started a lvl14 USeast amazon actually last night named "sliderx", maybe some time I could get some of the equipment from your old characters? That would be much appreciated :) i kinda wanna keep my ama for her name and I use her to play with some of my friends which are newbies too.
