well fellow barbs, fate struck a cruel blow. My hard drive crashed, had to re boot with reinstall discs, was unable to copy any files and all is gone. Even though accts are stored on blizz server I guess you need the files in your d2 folder to access them. I wrote blizz but I guess it wont be any use.......I dont know if everyone is aware of this.. anyway, after 5 years its time to hang it up. Asta la vista

I did re install. says accts dont exist, all 4 of them. No one has run into this? When I tried to make same name accts it did say there is an acct with that name . I figure that in the d2 folder there is us east folder which is needed to access the accts on blizz server. What else could be happening?

Yep, just reinstall the program and log into your account. I have friends log into my accounts all the time, and I've uninstalled, formatted, and reinstalled several times with no problems.

edit: you posted another message while I was posting; Make sure you're typing in the exact correct account name, and you're in the right realm. I don't see why you would be having any problems; sure, it makes small copies on the HD, but even if you delete them, it just remakes them when you log into the account again.

LOL that's what I was going to say happens to me all the time when I take of a few months I always pick wrong realm or don't check which realm it's on and I think my accounts are expired :)
