Found this staff from mehpy a while ago, and was wondering if it would be a good weapon switch for a blizzard sorc.

Raven Spell
Long Staff

20% faster cast rate
adds 1-326 ligthning damage
8% life stolen per hit
+3 to Blizzard
+23 to mana
7% damage taken goes to mana
lvl 1 Lower Resist (22 charges)
Ethereal

Now, this should be able to brake the resists of Cold Immunes, should it not? Except those that have over 120% or smthin..... Is it any good?

Cold Immunes? No. But it is a pretty good staff if that is all you have. Although I would like to ask you what you use.

lvl 1 lower resist will only break cold immunes up to 105%. Because the staff is ethereal, the charges will not be repairable. It does give +3 to blizzard, but this is easily matched by shopping a +3 all cold skills staff. throw it out.

i wonder if you can try rerolling the mods in your cube, would that take away ethereal? I think i'd try that once anyway, rare staves are actually kinda rare (even tho you can make them...most people don't)
Keeping an LR wand on switch and learning to use that is far more reliable than this thing which will break after a few uses, and you find you need to alter your playstyle when you go buy an LR wand anyway--or you get a nice sheild and orb and just do without--likely the sheild and orb were better than the staff in the first place.

in conclusion, yeah throw it out, but i suppose you could try at least once to reroll it.

Yah, didn't even realize that it would run out of charges :D
Was just thinking that maybe it could be used against cold immunes..... but then again, I've got a few necro wands with lower res charges too. Rather try those against ci's. My Blizz sorcs equip is;

Nighwings
Mara
+3 Blizzard perf cold Ormus
Stormy with Um
Deaths Fathom ~near perf :(
Snowclash
Raven Frost
Bul Kathos
Magefist
Silkweave

My merc is able to take out any ci's :p
