PvM Max Bone wall/or Bone Spear, Bone damg question

I've been thinking of maxing one of them cause I already have spirt max, does magic damg do well at 2k damg in hell? or do u need the pure Bone necro to dish it out?

You need to max more than just one attack and one synergy. If you have maxed Spirit and max one synergy you will not even reach 1k damage.
One attack and two synergies is the absolute minimum or one attack one synergy and Marrowwalk. That will yield you 1.3-1.6k damage. And that is really pushing it.

What are you going to do with the points you have save by not becoming a pure bonemancer?

A lot of people are braging about damage, but the most importent thing when you are playing in Hell, is your damage over time.

My Slvl 91 (primary PvM, but also PvP) bone necro has Bone Spirit lvl 34, and it have a max damage 2964. I have 130 % FCR, and I'm able to shoot 14 Bone spirit in 5 sec and the total damage is 41.496. If I remove some of my gear, and lower the cast rate to 35 % FCR, then I can fire 9 Bonespirit and the total damage will be 26.676. That means that I can raise my damage with 64 %!!!! over 5 sec just by improving my cast rate !!

But you have to invest some points in BP, BW, but it is a good investment, because your BA recieve synergies from from BP and BW, and there for you dont have to invest many points in BA(unless you'r a marrow hustler)

If your not a pure bone necro 1two3 then it seems as if you have damage output from other sorces, such as a skele/bone necro. If that's the case then it should be ample, because that's your damage in addition to the damage the skeletons are doing.

wow thanks for the replies, I've been working on a summon/bone necro cause if your new and broke a necro is the char for you. So far I'm doing pretty well, in a 1 player game in hell I can go anywhere I want and take on anything I want, cept for baal's last minions which I just run away. Veno\Returnomancer looks like a good build for next necro.

I hate to brag, but my necro (Slvl 91) can kill and survive in all kinds of 8-player games (Hell), and he can go solo without any problems and still kill.

I have some nice gear, but not anything goodly.

I can recomment getting a good merc. I always use act 5 barb's for my necros, because they can take some beating.
My merc has a Lightsabre with Amn (extremely fast and with ignore target defence, so he will almost hit every time and leech) Arreat and Black Hades Armor socket with jewels, and he is a real mean mother****er. He eat Burning Souls for breakfast :-).
Try a Arreat on a Barb merc, its mean.

If you have trouble with Baal's minions, use CG and Decrepify and BC, and then alot of Spears. When the first goes down, cast AD and then CE.

My 86 HC nec is a skellie/bone hybrid using spear which hits for about 1.5K. Spear and wall are maxed, wearing Marrows and working on spirit. Gotta agree with the previous poster... go go fcr. Don't really have any problems in hell, even though 1.5 doesn't seem like much, bonespear has a high minimum damage and as long as year hitting fast it does very well. Go anywhere, kill anything, solo hell Baals... whatever. Just love this guy.
