CL/FO Build?

Hey,
I know that one of the better sorc builds these days is the Meteorb but I didn't really like meteor because I used it once and I didn't really like the delay. So, what if I didn't use meteor and just used fire ball and frozen orb? Do you think it could make a viable build? Also, what skill points would you recommend? I would also probably get TS if I had some extra points left over. So what do you think? Thanks a ton!

Honestly, I couldn't see that working too well. Fireball really isn't a huge damage dealer without the maxed meteor syng. Not to mention, spreading to all three trees is a really easy way to get yourself killed.

I personally think a better build would look like this (if you dont like meteor):

20 FO
15-20 CM

20 CL
20 Ln
15-20 LM

Warmth, Teleport, Shiver Armor, Static, etc.

Chain and Lightning syng nicely, and although it's not totally the same, CL can be an adequate replacement for meteor.

skygoneblue i do NOT recommend putting 15-20 points into CM because its more effective to put between 5-10 and use +skills to boost. Papasmurf90 if you were to go CL/FO max Lightning Mastery after Lightning and Chain Lightning, and Frozen Orb (max this first) then after your 4 skills are maxed (with 5-8 into Cold Mastery) put points into CB or Nova to synergize your L and CL.

Fireball can be good but you need to put alot of points into FM, Firebolt, and Meteor too synergize the damage and theres no room for ts if you want fireball to have decent damage and barely room for fo.

Sorry about the title it was really early in the morning and I was out of it. It was supposed to be FB/FO. Oh well, I guess it wouldn't make a good build anyways. So, if I went CL/FO that would be better? Ok, so how do these skills look:

20 FO
10 CM
20 Lightning
20 CL
20 LM
1-20 TS

So how do you these look and which ones should I max first? Also, should I use FO to slow the monsters and CL to take them out? Also, should I just use lightning for single monsters? Also, how should my stats look? Thanks a million!

look at what kendu said for the cl/fo build. or, if you want something more in depth, look in the guide thread for the cl/fo guide. as far as your questions about skills are concerned, what kendu said is fine, but the rest of it, you'ld be better looking at the guide.

from experience, the hardest part of the build is deciding which skill to use when. there are the obvious times. i have 12k L dmg and 6k CL dmg, so for one monster, definately L, for large groups (flayers) definately CL. but there are all those other times when its up in the air. if there are multiple monsters you can hit with a single L, use that. the best example of this is the maggot lair. the width on L easily hits everything in the path. but sometimes in open areas, its better to use L. and choosing and manuevering to perfect that is something that i doubt even soepgroente has mastered.

but your original question was fb/fo, and i have a sorc that does that. it works fine for me. not as overpowering as meteorb and i have a non-timered spell, which i really like. so it works for me. "like a puma"

cl/fo will clear groups faster, FB/fo will kill single ppl faster. cl/fo is prolly better overall because of how L can do almost as well as fb.
