unique upd armors for zealot

Well ive been trading around to make a good armor for my pvp fanatic zealot paladin, so far I got a levi, upd shaft, and a perfect ga. However Ive got a lem and ko sitting around and thought maybe I should see if their are any viable upd exceptionals that would give my pally a unique feel and look. Heres a list of potential candidates, gimme some opinions on which would be worthy of upage and if any would in the end be better than the above listed three, thx.

Skin of the Flayed One- its got ok ED(190 if perfect) and if its eth it gets repaired every 10 seconds. Plus isnt this the orange armor? god thatd be cool lookin :p

Crow Caw- 15ias, 15fhr, 33ow, 15 dex, and 180 ED, could be pretty beastly right? but what kinda defense we talkin once upd?

Spirit Forge- 2 sockets, big life, 15 str

Toothrow- 40 OW, 220 ED if perfect, 10 str, 15 fire res, hmm this one could be interesting :p

Atmas Wail- 30 FHR, ok ED, 15 dex

Never, ever, upgrade an Eth armor. It loses the +50% base defense from Ethereal due to the cube recipe being bugged.

GA does get a nice defense when upped, my 200% landed at 15xx :) Had a 199% go 13xx tho.

Crow Caw is rather interesting, gets decent defense - 975 to 1388, depending on EDef% and luck on rerolled base def. The stats are just lovely too.

When you up an armor, does the percent on original enhanced defense matter? I'm asking because belth just said you can get lucky with new rerolled base defense. I'm guessing this isn't as enhanced Defense? :thanks:

Don't forget that the uped Ga will have a str req of 196 thus making a -15 req jewel with a good second mod almost a must. I doubt that you will have 196 str especially being pvp. It is a wonderful armor tho. Just pray for good base def when you reroll it. I uped a perf one and it got around 1520 ed if I remember right. 500+ and you will have a very nice armor.

Tindil, Yes the Ed still maters when you up and armor. What happens tho is the base def is rolled again for the new quality of armor and chossen at random. It works like this:

Normal GA: Lets say you get a perf normal GA...

Base def: 274*2 (200% ED) + Base def (274) Or 274*300% Esentially = 825 def

When you up and armor you dont get to keep perf base def. So it will look like this:

Uped GA: Hell forge Plate can get from 421-530 base def.

If you get a low 421 base def than you will get a low def uped GA like this.

Base Def: 421*2 ( your perf 200% ed) + Base Def 421 = 1263 Def

If you get a Perf base def Hellforge Plate then the def will look like this.

Base Def: 530*2 (200% ed) + Base Def 530 = 1590

If I were you, duriel's shell would be on my shortlist too, 200 ED w/ some other additional def.

I think the shortlist from your selection would be Duriel's Shell (resist+life+cannot be frozen), Crowclaw (IAS+FHR+OW, very nice combination) and Toothrow(best def and OW). Any of these three should be good if perfect and upgraded.

i'll agree with the upgraded duriels shell. mine isn't perfect but still very very nice.

Black Hades would be a nice upgraded armor. 3 open sockets make it very versatile.
