View Full Version : Take a stroll down memory lane...
I have made this thread to commerate favorite moments of old. what was your favorite pre 1.10 patch/diablo1 moment? I remember in diablo1 when no game was safe...dieing from a monster cause your items to spill, and there was no way to tell if someone was hostile till you were on the floor...good times ;)

Finding a super healing potion and a perfect diamond in act 1 norm. I forgot what patch that was but WTH?
I remember way back (forget patch number) that I saw (on a few occasions) Lord de Seis spawn with a mod called thief. If he hit me he would jack an item right off my char. Only way to get back was to kill him. Man now that was a mod to be afraid of, especially if your a melee char and he jacks your wep... I wish that mod still existed, its extremely hilarious.

I remember the first time I saw a full rejuvination potion. It was so damn beautiful! I had to collect all I saw, and I couldn't drink them because they were my treasure :)
Trying corpse explosion together with amplify damage in cow first time ever was a blast too.
But nothing, nothing! beats the feeling of putting that Trang Oul's set together for the first time. Two weeks before that I didn't even know that it existed. I had just moved on to Battle.net after some time in single player, without checking any sites at all about the game.
Thinking about this makes me envy all those newcomers. They have a whole world to explore. :hanky:

i remember how ****ign scary d1 was... i dunno if it was cuz i was liek 10, but d1 seemed a **** load scarier than d2..
it was pretty cool when i went all the way to the hell liek level in d1(bones all over) and coudl never get anywere :} d1 was so much harder, beatign norm was an acomplishment, i never did :flip:
way back in he day when i didnt kwno ther were d2 forums, or anythign els. before the item ebayers, and when a 3 socket one handed axe with a chiped ruby emrald and saphire was a viable weapon. and my 1st charicter, a lvl 37 summoner(didnt know what mastery did and all that stuff so basicly playign aropund) i bead a lvl 67 with my skelies :winner:

I remember be a total D2 nub when classic was out all I ever did was play single player and then when I switched to LoD my barb that I used that had pumped Leap Attack couldn't hit anything anymore I was so sad, lol and that Barb had no warcries or no masteries hahaha they were the days.
And my Necromancer I made after my Barb, lmao he sucked so badly I ended up pumping bone spear which wasn't that bad and pumped fire golem aswell hahaha oh the days.
And mind u these chars never got past lvl 35 or anything.

No, not even that. I was obsessed with items back then. I found very few sets and uniques in single player, so I never thought about why they came in different colours, until I moved to bnet

Beating the game is what it is all about. Man, when you first kill Big D and then Baal in the expansion...beautiful. :hanky:
How much CE owned in 1.01. 8 player game + CE = sick ownage of all!
Being a PKKer in D1, back when it was young and not infested with silly god-mode and so forth. It was pretty fun. :)

damn know if i think about regular diablo...the graphics..
i always thought the town portals looked like blue jello
i play Diablo 1 in single player only. grow to love this type of gameplay after i completed Diablo 1 by myself. All along i've been playing real-time strategy games like the past Dune II, command & conquer, starcraft, warcrafts. That's when i bought Diablo 2 and plays it in single player.
i like it, and when my dial-up 56k changed to the current 386k dial-up some years back, i play open online, not on battlenet yet. i met someone and we were happily playing, till he mention to me that battle.net was similiar to single player, just that there are more "humans". i follow him and try on the battle.net, teaching me, rushing me, throwing me with all the lj items he found, but those are real godly to me.
Ever since, it was a path of no return. He became my first friend online, and i've been playing D2 lod for some years, though he rarely enters and i think his account might have been expired if he hasnt been maintaining. But i'm still following his pattern, when i find items that i dont need, i'll donate to others who might find it godly to them...
