Just want to get a feel for how some of you set up your MF without hampering your gear too much. ATM my summoner uses full trangs /w misc items in other slots. I'd like to aim for 350-450ish MF and would greatly apprechiate your input. Thanks!

Hmmm with full trangs... When I mf I run a little over 300%, I feel that 400% is too high and you don't really kill anything half as fast as with less mf... But my pure summoner had about 500%+ (how I learned from my mistake :p ).
He was set up with
Shako (ptopaz)
Skullders (ptopaz)
2x 29% nagels
A Golemlord ammy with +mana
39% chancies
47% wartravs
Gulldagger
rhyme head
on switch for prebuffing:
Leoric
Golemlord head
Misc. MF charms
Now as long as you prebuff with a pure summoner you'll be pretty good for mfing even with insanely high mf. More mf = better although not much.
For example:
+%MF total +chance to find a unique item, %
-----------------------------------------------
0 0
100 71
200 111
300 136
400 154
500 167
600 176
700 184
800 190
900 195
1000 200
this shows you that MF is VERY diminishing. At the moment I run:
Shako (ptopaz)
Skullders (ptopaz)
Trang Glove
Trang Belt
Trang Shield (ptopaz for lite resist, only resist that 3 piece trang doesn't grant)
Golemlord Ammy w/mana
2x 29% nagels
Marrowwalks
Deaths Web w/ poison facet
on switch for prebuffing
Leoric
Golemlord head
Misc. MF charms
Granted this is a hybrid mfer, I find that with my little over 300% mf I run the pit, ect, about 10x as fast as before, not joking.
I don't know if wearing fulltrangs would be a good idea while MFing, it's a possibility maybe if you ptopaz the armor and the helm.

any time
Diminishing or not, I still like to wear as much mf as i can. Some ppl like to duel, some quest, i like to see how much mf i can get without affecting my resists, as that, rather than killing speed is important to me.
After 3+years of mfing, I decided countless runs can get old pretty fast.
Prebuffing is obvious, and 10 skellys after i switch to mf gear seems to work ok for me. Plus the fact that only the first few bodies are needed, as ce is the same with, or without mf switch (11yd radius)
lvl 91 hcl summoner, 510%mf/maxed resists

Shako p t
Skulder p t
Arm
Hommy p d
T gods
Mara
13%res all ring
rare ring wit 20+ res to light and poison
Waterwalks
303mf
Full res
80/75/85/75
1.1k life
I'll throw my HC MF summoner in:
Harlequin PT
Skullders PT
HotO/Homunculus
Weapon Switch Ali/Rhyme
Trangs gloves
Tals belt
Marrowwalk
+3 summon ammy
Dwarf Star/ +12 res all ring
about 50% MF in charms.
I switch to my ali/rhyme before bosses are killed. You won't lose any skellies during that time usually. The game gives you a certain interval that you can go with your switch before skellies die (the exception is items that give points directly to RS).
I have 269% MF standard, and 392% on my switch.
The trick is to keep corpse explosion on the MF weapon switch. You switch after a body is generated, fire off 3 or 4 CE's, then switch back. You still have your army up and you got the kills at the higher MF.
