Greetings All,

Couldn't play this weekend due to big animal adoption event. Our group had 12 big doggies & 1 lil' doggie adopted to new homes. I don't know what the weekend total was (there were 27 rescue groups there), but the Saturday total was 505 (doggies, kitties, bunnies). Kind of renews your faith in your fellow man. (Our group is located at www.homefurever.com if anyone wants to check out our nice doggies). Kook is sleeping. We had to get up at 5AM, to get the doggies all loaded up, & we got home around 8PM...2 very long days, but well worth it.

Think I'll jump on for a bit. Hope everyone is well. Hope to see you soon.

Greetings ALL...

Wasn't on this weekend except to take care of a few details..

Sat. had 2 attend the funeral of my grandmother ( my mother's side )... she was cremated... she lived a good life and she filled it with music and her piano.

Unfortunately, I didnt really know her that well. I always knew her as "LOLA" it's tagalog (my native language) for grandmother... and I had 2 ask my mother what her real name was... *which was kinda sad - not knowing*... it was DOLORES.

Sunday watch the 1st part of "10.5" regarding the earthquakes the hit the eastern seacoast - several years back... 2 nite is the conclusion.

@ KAT, grats on the adoptions..

The Guild Wars alpha has been great! :thumbsup: I didn't know if another game could replace Diablo for me. When I sit down at my computer now, I see the Diablo icon, but I'd rather play GW.

guildwars.com has some info on the game... which includes instructions on how the public can test drive the alpha during E3... May 12-14 :uhhuh:

Well, my lvl 18 Dueler is up and running. I still need a 3-Socket Eth Great helm, but I'm using a 2-P.ruby helm in the mean time.

Got my first two 1.10 ears yesterday, a lvl 31 WW Baba (duel) and a lvl 18 Baba thrower (PKK :D). The 31 was particularly satifying on two fronts, One he had a racist name, two he was using Chicken. I got him to 1/2 life twice and he auto-exited but kept coming back. The third time however I got him in charge lock and he went from over 1/2 life to dead in one hit (must have gotten a high dmg roll with DS). Of corse he insta-exited, leaving his ear and a crap load of cash.. so so sweet.

Good fun. I've ruin PKs days several time with near one hit kills on several. But EVERYONE has chicken on. And getting a duel is getting hard once the see my shield. I really really hate MH.

Anyway, while all you guys are Baaling, keep an eye out for an Eth Great Helm.

Is everyone planning on joining the "E3 for Everyone demo on the 14th-16th." On RPGStars Phur has a thread that will open as soon as we can get on the game to list you name so people from that site can play together.

There are some new Screenies out too. That game looks soooo good. I can't wait to try it out. I spent like 5 mins just looking at the install screen for the Demo (which you can DL now).

I hope to see everyone (or some at least) on the Demo.

Hi hi guys.

I might return for another quick spurt in a week or so. Hammerdin this time around I think I'll make, considering I can make them without a problem and faster than all heck.

@Dirty Don,
I'm assuming your shield is at least a 60% pally shield with 36 max? Weapon I assume is clegs sword?

If thats the case I suggest the following for your weapon switch: Clegs sword + cheap 40-45% ed pally shield with 28-32 max damage in it (ie use +7 or +8 max jewels). Anything to make you look "weak". in actual fact, your damage won't be that different with that decoy shield than the best max/ed pally shield. It helps a little, but the difference is maybe 200 or so tops iirc.

Tactics are to use those weapons for moving around town and entering/exiting town. As soon as they exit town, switch and keep some distance away from town, before moving in. Try to circle around somewhat so that you are in between them and town/walls. The aim of the game is to get them in a clear spot of area for the charge lock of death :D Once you've killed them, weapon switch again.

by deliberately looking weaker, you will pick up far more ears. One of my favorite tricks was to build pure life for my armor/helm but had my inventory loaded with dual mod max/life charms.

My shield is kick arse:

65%ED
+60 Max dmg
+104 AR
+11 FR
+14 Stam.

Traded a Spiderweb Sash for the shield clean (good trade if you ask me).

Armor is Eth Gothic +60 max
Sword is Cleg's /w +15 Jewel /w Clegs Gloves (for the +22, +180AR)
CK Boots
Death Sash
Angelic Ammy/ring and 7% Manald on the other hand.
I'm going to switch to a 3-P.Ruby Helm tonight (that will give me 1012 life) until i find the helm I want for my Jewels.

I might not use the max helm for dueling, people are too chicken.

Right now on switch I have a 4-Sock Eth War axe (4x Iths) and with the Unique Kite shield. People are still scared of the War Axe, lol. But that is a good idea. People don't buy the Kite Shield, so I'll look for a 3-4 soc 30-40%ED shield as a decoy.

Btw, what does iirc mean? I see it al the time.

go for a 40-45% ed shield. Any lower and you start to become obvious.

Gah. 36 max lol....I was thinking of level 8 wrath jewels :P

No more than 45-50 max with the jewels. A couple of +14's and some wraths should do the trick. The aim is to look like you either are a "noob" when it comes to dueling (ie just getting started with it), or went cheap to get the gear. You will find that if you present yourself as either of the two, alot of lamers will want to duel you.

My personal favorit was when a 1.09 level 45 (41 is the req isn;t it?) burizon hostiled in a LLD game I was in. My sins were all built to look harmeless, but easily picked up another ear.

Stick with a clegs sword with a cheap +12 socketed in it to complement the shield on switch. The reasoning is that I have had people flux when they realise that I switched weapons. Idealy you want an identical looking shield/sword from your character display so they don't realise that you switched.

that is info being streamed to your computer. what it attempts to do is predict where you will go next and starts downloading info for that place. there will still be initial load times, but it will be a lot quicker.

Well, sadly, my lvl 18 pally was killed yesterday in true lamer style.

I was dueling a lvl 3x druid and I was holding my own. I don't think I could have killed him, but I was not really in trouble of dying. Then a high lvl nevro joined the game and I didn't notice.

I did see him and when to Alt-F4 as he teled toward me, but alas, I saw a tp go up and I was instantly dead. I think the guy I was dueling died too, but I'm not sure. I don't even know the name of the nevro that killed me. And to top it off, my pally doesn't even ahve a ghost, just a name with a blanks space.

Thank you Blizzard for &$#& #*#$ (@#$* 492 #$@($ until the handle breaks off and you have to find a doctor to pull it out again.

I wil be rebuilding, but it's going to take forever to get my charms back. I had like 1024 life at lvl 18 :P.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to GWs.

Well, I'm rebuilding my pally. Bit thanks to bill for giving me a 4-soc eth gothic plate and some other stuff. Re-Trading for the charms is just as I thought it would be.. hell.

But, I'm 1/8 done with my charms, and it's a cake walk from there. Time of MF like crazy... gogo Mephy (4 yellow Monarchs, and 2 yellow Shako yesterday :P, today has to be better).

Our main line is screwed up, so i have to use the internet line to call my g/f...Sooooo that meens no internet wich meens no d2/any other games i want to play. Usually i just play while there blabing in my ear...but now i can even do that...:D lol. Phone company is supposed to come out and look at it today, so hopefuly i will be back playing again soon...Not like there are many people left anyways...Most of you left for GW...Can't say i blame ya though. Ive gotten on a few times only to get off disapointed not seeing any sky and way baal runs...:(
I think my sister has a softball game that ill be forced to goto tonight...So that really meens no play time...

To be honest, the Baal runs became very boring. At one time, we use to find 2-4 "keeper" items a night. We were seeing stuff drop that we had never seen in 1.09 and before. I don't think we went more than two weeks without seeing a Tal's armor drop. Heck, one night we found Tal's armor, IK armor, and Levi armor all within 35 runs. I saw more unique and set cryptic swords than I care to recall. Stormshield would drop about every 2-3 weeks.

Then sometime around the beginning of February, things just dried up. We were lucky to see one keeper item every two weeks. Most nights, it was all trash. People started joining our Baal runs and it got fun again, but eventually I realized how many hundreds of hours it would take to level at 97... and that was just to get to 98. Bleh.... give me a character reset with 1.09 again, give me my cow runs back, and let me level to 99 with reasonable effort (instead of a career commitment). [/rant]

Anyways... hoping to see some of you in the E3 for everyone next week!

I know what you mean...I've been doing alot of baal runs lately almost non stop and it mostly has been endless crap that drops.

But on a side note I found that a 3 person mf baal team gets good drops usually when I do this the other 2 run away and let me get last hit my sorc is running about 567% mf in the last 3 days we have found Shako, Monarch x2 and a 5/4 light faucet so my guess is if you want anything good to drop from baal use at least 500% mf and he will start to drop decent.

Yeah, always keep 10-12s. My pally had 15 charms that were 12 life or less and still had 1024 life and enough dmg to scare any MHer lvl 12-24 I had been in a game with out of dueling me.

But, beeing as I'm not a proud guy, I'll contact you tonight.

BTW, I had a bout of charity come my way yesterday. I trade by going to the channel, spam, go to trades-1, spam, then do tow Meph runs, and repeat.

I spamed and some guy whispers me, come to xxxx game, I'm you man. Then he dropped a lvl 17 15 life charm, said SS, and hit the road. There are still some decent people on BNet :).

Also, I know a guy that is trading nice lvl 17 lifers for cold/light death charms. If you have any crap ones, I'd be glad to trade them off you.

PS. 10/39 charms down, at this pace I should be done this weekend. Kind of depends on how well mephy drops for me (Arachnid mesh last night :D, and another 3 yellow monarchs, for a total of 9 yellow monarchs since I started 1.10, lol... I need more MF i guess).

Lately when I've gone on... I've been mfing Pindle w/ my Tal Sorcy... he hasn't really dropped ne great.. in maybe 130 or so runs.. only got a wizzy and a gheed charm (which I have kept UNID), i have very bad luck when Id'ing certain random uniques... esp those rainbow facets. of the 2 I've found both were crappy poison...

Good afternoon misfits. I have actually had the best magic finding luck of my entire D2 career over the past week or so. I've been in games where 2 storms have dropped (alright, maybe not MY magic find in every case, but still, something noteworthy). I ran just eld/shenk in hell, with probably less than 100 magic find, about 25 times and came up with a gheeds, harley and griz armor. For me, this is incredible luck, and I'm enjoying it while it lasts. :) Hope I didn't just jinx myself by talking about it.

since i'm lonely, tired, sleepy, irritated, bored, depressed, etc etc, i want to rant/post/write/flame a bit.

(1) dammit engineering sucks. for all you youngsters reading this, DONT DO IT. just DONT. it's like drugs, only you never get the "high" O.o i've been working on this project for 3 weeks now, and it's still not even 3/4 done. and it's due in 4 days! and i have 2 teammates, one who only did the "writing" part, and one that did nothing at all. and i get to do all the calculations! hooray! :grrr:

(2) i have to agree about the mf "nerf". the first few months of ladder the drops were great. in soloing baal with my necro, i usually get a tc (some number greater than meff) rare/unique every run, even an insane one where mavs hat, ik armor, and shadow plate dropped in 1 run. now, i'm lucky to get 1 shako from hell meff in 500 runs.

(3) i just died! hehe, this is my fault basically, as nOObness (cockiness) got me again. i was plain tired of running the pits about the 30th time last night, so i just went in and shot everything with my secksy 170ed witchwild. well, "went in" is synonymous with "too close to cold enchanted beast", and my base vita, 404 dex, 500 life, 10 cold res zon rests in peace.

(4) why do people have to eat? this has got to be one of the most boring, useless things ever. for one thing, it takes anywhere from 2-4 hours each day to do, and (for the vast majority) there is nothing to gain, and to top it all off, you have to pOOOOp. and 99% of the time the food you;re eating ain't even palatable.

hmmm, i think thats about it. and remember to always have MANSECKS (proven to increase your heart rate). go to the OTF for more info.

Well PINDLE finally paid off... on my 21st run... he dropped LACQUERED PLATE.... I just need some1 to help me xfer this b4 i do something stoooopid...

(4) why do people have to eat? this has got to be one of the most boring, useless things ever. for one thing, it takes anywhere from 2-4 hours each day to do, and (for the vast majority) there is nothing to gain, and to top it all off, you have to pOOOOp. and 99% of the time the food you;re eating ain't even palatable.

You obviously ain't never had MY cooking. Or you are eating the wrong things. Food is supposed to taste good. Therefore, you should be enjoying your time eating. As for the pooop part, since it's a natural (not to mention, necessary) body function...you may as well enjoy it too. After all, you feel really good after you do it.

Meatloaf & mashed taters, biscuits & gravy, spaghetti, baked ham, roast turkey & stuffing, prime rib, pot roast, pork roast, beef stew, chili, mostacolli, lasagne, ribs, corned beef, cornbread, fried taters, macaroni & cheese (none o' that box stuff), & I bake...bread, cookies, brownies, cake, pie. I make my own strawberry jam too. I'm a regular lil' housewife. And I'm fat too! 'Cos I'm a mighty fine cook, if'n I do say so myself.

level 44 at the moment and going strong. ~1k hammers.

Got the ussual crap gear from being mostly untwinked. I've got my barb giving bo for me to babysit him along, and some extra mana.
