Besides being a title from some Italian singer, this catchy line will surely be heard through Europe realm if this is going to work.

I would suggest we start up a dii.net channel on Europe again. But this time, an official one. It has been tried a few times in the past, but they always died because there were never any people on. I suggest we create an official, moderated channel to chat in and meet for playing games together. Frankly, I am getting quite tired of the same old channels full of spam and bnet kiddies, so tired that I very much like the 1.10 feature of the "character lobby". I don't even join any channel anymore. But that is not what online playing should be, so it would be cool if there was a permanent dii.net channel we could hang out in. If it is a permanent, moderated channel, I don't think it will die so fast - wouldn't it be neat to have a channel to go to, and be almost sure that there are fellow forumers online?

Good idea, or am I rambling here?

Yes, yes, yes,
I think this would be great. These days it's hard to find some mature fellow-players and a chat channel would defenitly make things easier.
You got my support.

Good idea,

Public Chat ETF is a good place to start, its always got people in and is well established.

But in my experience the problem with that channel is that there are a lot of people afk there.
That makes it rather hard to communicate...

So you want a Europe Channel that has next to no-one in it? Or just a few? Then there is likely to be hardly anyone it day to day until no-one bothers anymore.

That could be a real problem if this idea would be realised.
Is it possible then to have a place where a lot of serious players join, who are also looking to meet and play with other people?

I like the idea. I suggested it in the community forum a while ago. People liked it, but nothing happened.
What to name the channel then? DIInet? Short names are good, I think. Or op something, so an account can be made and throw spammers out perhaps?

This is an excellent idea. Since I play mostly on my own, because all my friends have stopped playing, this would be good for me.
This raises one question. Is there a way to set a "default" chatroom you enter when you enter the chat section? Being from Iceland my "default" chatroom is the icelandic chatroom (eu:is or something like that). Would I be able to change the "default" chatroom to this one, if it becomes a reality?

Ive seen this idea before.... the only way ive seen it work well is to just add peoples names into your friends list and when enough of you are online meet up in an agree'd chat channel. Because as somebody rightly said nobody wants to hang about in an empty chat channel for hours.

Im not knocking the idea, I too have seen DII friends slip away to other games so anyway of keeping in touch with like minded players for a game or two is great!

@Snowieken: Hey man. Sounds like a great idea. By the way, do you play ladder/non-ladder/both?
