welcome to seb, and you have chosen the right path for d2! :)
a wind druid can solo hell very nicely.
basically, its one that maxes Cyclone Armor, Twister, Hurricane, Tornado and rest of their points into Oak Sage. This will be very good for monster killing and also for duels.
Theres a sticky on guides and stuff, you should check it out and see what popular options are available to you. once you get a feel for the game, i am sure you can develop your own builds!
and happy bday

Sup,
Whoever said elemental druids cant solo hell need to brush up on their facts, I think if your going for the elemental route then make a Wind Druid. Check the sticky at the top of the forums page about the PVM and PVP guides, Fenris has a nice guide on wind druids(which is pvp but can be applied to pvm). If you wanna go shapeshift route than go for good ol' fury wolf. Fury wolf doesnt need godly equipment to be viable in hell. Anyways whatever path you take druids are a fun character class to play with alot of versitility. Have fun!

Well your right about brushing up on facts... Hes a level 83 Amazon who played a long time ago but is back for a few months ago.
Anyway how effective is a Multi Branched Druid (like a druid who can summon a grizzly, cast Hurricane, and use Fire Claw in Werewolf Form)

Happy birthday!
Welcome to the druid forums!
Have a nice stay and read the stickies.
If you can't decide which one to do, I'm sure many will be willing to give advice on what to start with.
Have fun!

welcome!
I see you've invested in a variety of skills, keep in mind you cannot cast elemental skills while shifted into wereform, but this first character is a good means to experiment and see what you like

so those this mean that I should do what I want and Ill probably be able to become a strong high level Druid?

what it means is that you probably won't get much further than lvl30 because your skill placement won't be specialized enough to lend alot of power to your build, but, you will get a chance to try alot of skills and see how you like them, read some of the guides posted around and get a feel for what kind of druid and what kind of skills you want to use, and then you'll be in good shape to make a really find druid, or you will figure out what you want to do and get pretty far with this guy, hard to say.

I understand experimenting with skills (my first couple characters were a complete "mess" with skill points when I started) but fairly soon you should try to streamline a bit, as it will make your character stronger
Welcome to D2 and these forums, I hope you enjoy your stay
definitely, have fun trying all of the druids skills and see how you like them with your first guy. don't worry about stacking skills, just get a feel for what you like. this druid will probably never get out of normal difficulty, but he will be a stepping stone for you to figure out what type of druid you would enjoy playing.
Once you figure that out, come back here and read some of the guides. If you hit the strategy compendium, you will find some older guides for 1.09, but those are pretty old. only read those if you can't find a guide for 1.10 for the particular type of druid that you want to build.
Once you've done all that, come back here and ask us to fill in any gray areas for you. Welcome to the druid forum. :D

Well I finished testing them :) . Ive decided to go Hunter/Elementalist Hybrid. the 3 Shapeshifting skills are just some acess and cmon a few lost skill points wont kill me. So just wondering what is a hunter/elementalist hybrid called? An elemental Hunter?

"Huntermentalist"
I've never played one but I like the Hunter & I like the Elementalist so that should be fun.
Its probably a good idea to make your first few chars just experimental. The druid is a good one to start with because he has a wide range of skills (elemental, melee, and summoning). I suggest just playing him through normal difficulty and trying out all his skills. You might want to do this with a few chars just to get to know all the areas of the game better, and then chose one you like, and focus on making a good solid char that will be able to succesfully defeat hell difficulty. Also making a magic find character is a good idea also, because in 1.10 most chars need good items to do well in the harder areas of the game.
This site is a great source of information, the more time you spend here the less of a newb you become. I suggest reading some guides in the strategy compendium, including the magic find guide.
What realm are you on?
If your on East non-ladder I could probably give you some items, or advice.
Good luck on b-net, and have fun.
