What Merc?

Fury WW Druid, Max Fury, Oak Sage, Lycanthropy, Werewolf and Feral Rage. Will be using mostly IK set so he'll have nice elemental damage. Don't know what merc to get, I won't have a grizzly to tank for me, I've been told holy freeze merc, but I dunno, any input would be great.

I have a holy freeze merc for mine, but i hardly bother to resurrect him. My wolf tanks far too well on his own.

Holy freeze or might. IMHO defiance wont do much for a werewolf since they don't have natural +%defence skills.

I think this would be the reason to use defiance....to improve what you do poorly (in this case low defense on your wolf). However, since wolves attack fast as hell and have extremely fast fhr as well they can usually get by with the low defense. Basically I'd say that you need to go off of your own experience. If you find that you kill slowly get a might merc, if you get surrounded by mobs too fast get a holy freeze, if you find that you get hit to much get a defiance merc. I think it's hard to tell someone what merc to use since some people play differently (more offensively compared to more defensively) so I hope that I've helped in some way atleast.

My earlier comment was based purely on my own experiences. Since I don't have good gear --> I don't have any good base defence to boost --> crowd control>+%defence. Feral rage and high life is also a factor that keeps monsters from getting you into hit recovery and leaching the lost life(due to low defence).

i would have to agree with this statement.

holy freeze is awesome for crowd control. defiance will help vs certain monsters since not all are physical attackers.

I gave my druid a Holy Freeze merc. His lvl up went slow at first but now I lvl him up in The Pit in hell, and he is great. The merc is lvl 78 and he has more than 3000 life with my lvl 11 oak sage. There were only a few situations where I had to resurrect him. He uses Tal rasha mask, Atma's Wail, and Steel Pillar for the defense boost. He even survived a few hell baal runs recently. I can only recommend him.

A Might merc might be an alternative but Holy Freeze is more useful, in my opinion.

where and what is holy freeze merc? i thought it was act 3 ice merc ....????

A Holy freeze merc is an act 2 defensiv merc, you can hire in nightmare.
