Leaving it at 9/5/5/5/5 would save around 30 points from strength to vitality and increase the weapon’s average damage with 30 (I would change a sheal for a 33ed/-req jewel). This is for a two-handed pvm wolf.

i dont quite understand what exactly ur saying.
this how i interpreted it.
you would need to put 30 more str to use a 8/5fpa weapon? so ur contemplating wether u want to make the weapon 9/5fpa and save 30 points and do more damage because you'll put in a -req jewel instead of a shael?
Firstly, what weapon is it?
most likely, i would say go for 9/5fpa because this is pvm, you want to be doing more damage, 9/5fpa is good enough. i personally would go for a botd eth glorious axe/archon staff/gpa/gt for its stats, insane high damage, 8/5fpa and mainly, its indestructible. there goes a lot of gold saved.
yeah..what weapons are you contemplating?
i would say generally in PvM (NOT PvP), if the choice is between 9/5/5/5/5 and 8/5/5/5/5 (or any other one frame difference on the main attack), if you are losing other attributes that help your character, stick with 9/5/5/5/5 (or the slower main attack).
Also note that weapon average damage shouldn't be the ruler you use to measure werewolf weapons, use damage over time. for instance, with an 8/5/5/5/5 attack, you would be hitting critters at just under 5 attacks per second, so that works out to about 110-115 more average physical damage (off the weapon) per second. I have never seen this proven, but supposedly, once the first strike hits, the other 4 are unblockable. so thats quite a bit more average base damage per second, assuming you actually hit the first time.
However, adding 30 strength on a werewolf is going to give you even more damage, so that is NOT a bad thing, it's a good thing. It doesn't really matter what the weapon is, go for it. :D
If you use Feral Rage alot, then it might actually help you quite alot. If you don't, then settle with 9/5. You most likely won't feel that extra frame.

Okay, sorry If I was to fuzzy with the details. The weapons I'm talking about is:
Ik-maul (sheal, sheal) or Ik-maul (sheal, ed/-req)
Bonehew (sheal, sheal) or Bonehew (sheal, ed/-req)
I've tested to use 3 other parts form the ik-set (gloves/belt/boots), and I was disappointed. So I've decided to go for Laying of Hands (550%ed vs demons would be nice), String of Ears and Gore Rider instead. But doing that would force me to have an enormous amount of base strength. That's why I asked.
botd - weapons is out of question. I will never find a Vex. And if I do, I will certainly never find a Zod. So it is 2 * impossible :(.

If I had to choose from those(I trust that Bonehew with -req does 9/5/5/5 too lazy to check :D ) I would choose the single shael Bonehew. It would double as a mighty hurty pointy stick for any merc you happen to have now, or in the future. It also gives you more freedom over the other equipment sections(IK parts).
ed/ias LO/jewel would be awesome cuz it only needs 15% ias
i dont find the intial frames that important in pvm

got a similar question so I'll tag it on here
I'm just using bonehew to get from 64 to 84 so I don't want to go too pricey, does shael hel sound good?
or maybe I'll just use -req jewel and save the Hel
