Hi,

Dop_obo and I are looking for players who might be interested in joining us on hellforging runs. The process is very simple but it is time consuming, so if you are interested in applying, you must be able to commit to playing two nights per week for at least 3 hours per evening.

More participants make the rushing go much quicker, so we would like to obtain enough players to make a full 8-person party for each two-night block.
Players will be divided up into three different blocks:

Mon/Tues Session. Playtime: ? (to be determined)
Wed/Thu Session. Playtime: ? (to be determined)
Fri/Sat Session. Playtime: ? (to be determined)

If hellforging is of interest to you, please feel free to apply right here in this thread. Please leave some contact info, available times (don't forget to mention your timezone), and which of the three sessions you would like to join. You may apply for more than one session -- if you can be available for more than one.

BENEFITS:

1.) Obviously, you get your own hellforge rewards for Norm/NM/Hell.

2.) Nice item drops are shared. However, keep in mind that these are Hellforge runs -- not MF. Our rusher is geared up for survival and killing speed and thus we don't tend to turn up an extraordinary number of elite drops.

3.) When it's all said and done, you'll have some nice hell mules!

4.) Make some new friends. :thumbsup:

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

There are no character requirements. As a participant you simply create a level one character every time we start a session. Once they have been rushed, you can play them, use them as hell mules or delete them -- it's up to you.

There are some minor gear requirements. Dop and I can help with your outfitting but if you can scrounge up some of these things for yourself, it would help us alot. If you have spares you can donate, that would be appreciated as well. :)

- Full Sigon's set (except the shield; we don't use that piece).

- Two 2s katars. They must have two sockets. They must be katars (str/dex req: 20/20 -- easily farmed from Charsi in Norm). Sockets are filled with chipped skulls. They must be chipped!

- Angelic ammy/rings x2 or Cathan's ammy/rings x2. Your choice based on personal preference.

- Strength charms (any size, no secondary mod required). Level prereq on these must be level 6 or less. You need enough total strength from these charms to equal at least 15; 20 would be better.

We still need level 40 characters. The level 40 character will kill baal while the other chars stay in town and the chars in town will get the quest so it can move on.

As Oran mentioned, it's a very complicated explanation -- my initial post would have been 150000000000 words long if I tried. It's easiest to just show everybody how it's done in-game.

Rushes are actually involved in the process, but there is a bit more to it than that; hence the gear requirements and the need for back-to-back nights of play. I guarantee that it is absolutely worth it though! :)

Okay, at first there would be a sorceress and 7 assassins. The assassins level up to level 40 with the help of the sorceress. By the time they are level 40, new assassins are made. The sorc will rush the assassins and by the time its baal, someone brings in their level 40. Kill baal, everyone gets quest. Next difficulty. Resume.

After yesterday's no-show at 8pm, I've given up on organizing any runs. I'll leave it up to Dredd to get everyone together, and plan out the runs...just tell me when to show up and I'll be there :)

In the meantime, I'm doing some 'contract' work.

No, Dredd's next step is to find a cure for spring allergies -- has me flat on my back at the moment and not up for much gaming. :( Hopefully I'll be feeling better soon.

In the meantime, I haven't forgotten about this thread. Right now I'm still just looking to get as many people to sign up as possible. This is not an easy project to organize so everybody is going to have to be a bit patient.

Trying to get ahold of some of you guys online has been a major pain in the rear, so I'm going to try something a bit different.

Everbody who has signed up to participate, expect a PM from me sometime this weekend. I would like a chance to meet everybody in-game some afternoon or evening so we can chat a bit, I can get some of the information I need to organize these runs, and I can fill everybody in on how these runs are performed. Whether or not we can manage a forge run demonstration tonight will depend on Dop showing up, since he's our rusher. I let him know about tonight's get together but I haven't heard back from him yet, so we'll see.

That will depend alot on how quickly people email Bz-Ownz with a confirmation as to which days/times they can commit to. I'm going to try to have a tentative schedule set up by Saturday morning - or at least before the end of the weekend.

We also have to set aside some time to get everybody geared up and oriented so next week we should be starting our forging, but we won't be going full tilt until the week after.

Hey Azonian me and dop are currently the only 2 rushers(we need more with more ppl) for this thing and we have done rushes for along time and we have been doing the same for as long as i can remember, but your ideas seems intresting even though i have no clue what you said on ur post. Maybe we can meet in game somewhere and explain it a bit more clearly or u can rewrite that in a step by step process that would really help us out on what ur saying :spy:

Hey Azonian me and dop are currently the only 2 rushers(we need more with more ppl) for this thing and we have done rushes for along time and we have been doing the same for as long as i can remember, but your ideas seems intresting even though i have no clue what you said on ur post.


He's describing something almost exactly like our method, except a bit more complicated. The only real difference, from what I can make of it, is that he would have most of the rushees sit in a channel and join the game just in time to get the necessary quest rewards -- it would speed things up a bit, but that would require alot of coming and going from the game and with 5-6 rushees, it would be a pain in the arse. It's worth looking into though.

If you want to use a character besides an Assassin, it's perfectly fine - provided you level them on your own time. However, you don't have to take them all the way to 40 - Level 25 is good enough. At 25 you can bring the character in and finish leveling to 40 in our baal runs; once we reach the baal run portion of the rush, it no longer matters what sort of character you are using. :)

No, you only get one perfect gem per person that needs the quest, if you did it you would get multiple perfect gems/flawless/normal, but only one rune, so. .that'd be bad

No. .like I said before. .you get gems depending on how many people actually need the quest. .you get more gems by using more quests at once, but, you still only get one rune. .so that'd be stupid to waste your runes for a few more gems.

You get virtually nothing for xp in the throne room until you are level 25. However, you can run around and kill things in the Flayer Jungle on our Baal runs - it wouldn't take long to reach 25. Our baal run games will likely be private anyway, so your presence would be desired.

Normally though, the rushing and leveling is all done together as a team.

Hellforge rewards are done by one rusher and one rushee - everybody else stays out of the game. As A_S_G correctly stated, you only get one rune per quest reward anyway so wasting other people's quests just to get extra PGems would be silly.

Trust me when I say that you'll end up with more PGems than you know what to do with anyway. I get so many gems from a single day of hellforging that I cannot even begin to trade them all away and my gem mules fill up quickly. Nowadays, I just use the excess PGems to cube skiller charms (minus the Amethysts of course; those I use for crafting high end ammys). :thumbsup:

So, as you can see, there are more benefits to hellforging than simply getting a few nice runes. By the way, if anybody has crafting ingredients and wants a few crafted caster rings/ammys, just give me the stuff and I can cube them for you. I have a L95 Werewolf to do the dirty work with. :lol:

Sorry, I should of been more specific. I ment, if I get my character to 24, from cows, then can I come along with the rush (act 3-ancients) then I'd be 25 from the ancients, and I could just tag along with baal from 25-40.

i found at 24, you get more exp for doing runs in the canyon of the magi...but thats just me

I said I was going to try to have a schedule for next week set up by Saturday (today, not next week). I still may post it tonight, or I may hold off on it a bit while I take care of some other things.

At any rate, most of us seem to be Friday players, so I think our first Hellforging session will be this Friday and will continue through Saturday. I will divide Friday up into 3 or 4 seperate blocks and everybody will be assigned a slot in one or more blocks. Easy. When I write it up it will be posted here well in advance - probably no later than Wednesday.

There is also the matter of getting everybody outfitted with the pieces of gear and items they are missing. I want everybody completely set up before Friday so I'm setting aside this week to take care of that.

Go over the item prerequisites on page one of this thread. If you are missing anything on that list, PM me as soon as possible and I will set aside some time to get you whatever you need from my mules. Dop_obo is Ye Keeper of Strength Charms, but I have most of everything else.

just an update, i've got a sigon's set, two 2 socket katars full of chipped skulls, and i'm working on collecting extra chipped skulls for anyone else that needs them. i'm more interested in doing rushes/baal runs than building up new characters, but i'm working on a barb now to leap, crush things, and generally amuse me.

I am in need of help for gear too. In fact, this will be my switch from non-ladder to ladder since 1.10. Needless to say, all my stuff was dropped prior to switching play, so I'm starting fresh.

I think the point was for those of us without 2 running DC copies to have a group rush of sorts. 7 new chars, and 21 helforges (well 14 becasue norm doesnt count unless its Shael or Amn which are at least somewhat useful).

The idea of a char at lvl40 was that they were already ready for the NM/Hell forges.

At least thats what I thought, and my boasorc is now geared up (well, will have gear ready for her) =)

I just re-read it, and seems that one person was rushing a group. The group leached off that guys baal quests and each got their own hellforge. Now I havent been in a run yet, but seems the jist of it. But like Dredd stated, I'll figure it out when I get in one :)

Heres the way I would see it. If you have a level 40 char already, we can just rush some lvl 1's to baal. Then kill baal without any problem. THis would save time and stuff. But of course, if we would need to make new level 40 chars. You wouldnt want to and we want a full game so since you dont want to we would have another. I believe there won't be room for you.

Exactly, well put, now do you see why I'm so worked up? Why would we do one of my characters and none of anyone else's. .we would all get less. . .which yes is greedy. .but after all I did get the guy to fourty when everyone else didn't. . .

If we all start with level ones except the rusher, then all of us do level up to 40 together. That is why Dredd said we need to commit at least 2-3 hours to this in back to back nights. Nobody is profitting off of anyone else's hard work. We get the drops based on the leveling of our initial assasain.
If we already had level 40s, then this would all take only a fraction of that just to get forges. True, this would go quick if we all leveled up to 40 on our own time, but that is not the method I gathered from the metting a few weeks ago.

I don't think we have to agree on a single method for this. I leave it up to the people rushing to dictate how this goes down. Please! Let's give it a go and see how it works!! :thanks:

Ok everyone i guess i have to settle i dispute here. Since A-S-G has a few lvl 40 chars ready but doesn't want to use them just yet because its at all his work and we basically did nothing so far. Its probably best if we all start with making a lvl 40 char each before we start rushing any mules. Just to make things more fair for now and do have a-s-g use up his mules just yet.

So basically this weekend we need about 6 other ppl besides me and my enchantress to get ourselfs some lvl 40 chars. If more then 6 ppl other then myself shows up then we'll need 2 games. That game will be hosted by dop and his enchantress. I hope this clears things up abit.

Also i would like to meet some of the ppl that can make it this weekend. For does of you that can make it plz come to channel dop at 7 pm pst sharp.

I have nothing wrong with using my level fourty characters, I just think we all need them, be it we lvl them on our own time or do them together.

Do you atleast see my point. .Basically I would use my character. . .and the other people would just sit in game get rushed. .using my normal/nm baal quest. .just sitting there leeching the quests. ..the only person that would do anything would be the rusher. .

And I would get my forge (which I would anyway) and the other 6 people would get the forge for doing what? Sitting in a game not even leveling a character. . ..

Now if we do it like it was designed to do. . .

We all make level 40 characters, then use one level 40 guy at a time, rush using his quest, then get another one, and keep doing it, so we get 7 forges, each benefiting from eachother. We all level one character to fourty to get 7 nm/hell forges. .

This is a brilliant idea if it goes the way it was designed to be done. . .

If you're talking about because I could teleport to durance level 3 so fast. .I have almost all the maps memorized, I've done way too many meph runs. And If I recall Oranite you also teleported to places like Catacombs level 4 just as fast as I did.

d2 loader, yes I do. . .I didn't know that was a hack. .I could just go install it on my sisters computer and run two games. .but I'd rather have them here so all I have to do is alt+tab. .

And Oranite, you must use this also, since you had two characters in there, and you switched them way too fast unless you have two computers next to eachother. But, d2loader is a lot easier, and less risk of me dropping in game while self xfering or something.

Botting. .assuming luucifer told you this. .Yes. .I tried pindle bot for a few days. But so do all the rich people on these forums. And I'm by no means rich. I tried it for a few days, I havn't traded anything I found. I just wanted to see what was so great about it. (PS luucifer asked me where I got it so w/e) If I still botted I wouldn't be perming accounts for people for a about a mal rune now either would I? :(

Anyway. .oh well, I was thinking of not doing this after we ran luucifers character anyway. .I was just going to use mine as promised then quit. It does take less time. . all we have to do is rush. .but that still took about 45 minutes per character. And anyway, according to you guys I bot so I'd rather spend my 45 minutes botting then getting a Fal rune from forge now wouldn't I. . .

I'd rather just enchant myself using my second copy of diablo and play through the game.

It depends on how big of a party we are running. Six rushees will translate into something like 18 forge rewards (per person, counting all three difficulties), per two-night session. It's alot of tedious work but the rewards are worth it. The runes add up very quickly.

Luuuuuuuci is on aim all the time and i see him online alot. Jr said he will be online more often when ladder resets but for now hes going to play CS and take care of his wife and daughter....

I still have everybody's names so I'll look each of you up when the time is right. Obviously, with the ladder resetting soon, everyone's priorities have changed. I doubt we'll be back up to hellforging speed for at least a month or so after the new season starts. All of my trading energies will most likely be spent helping the rushers get set up. It's going to be fun, I can't wait to be poor again! :clap:

lol, I never "really" said you were botting, I was just laughing it up with luu about you and your pindlerunner accounts. Even though in truth i know you wouldn't bot cus theres no point in botting, especially when runes are worth more then items and you can get em easily.

Slim chances of success considering no one knows anyone. Maybe they'll all be leaping at each others throats the first time some elite item gets picked up on someone else's kill. Or we'll end up getting sabotaged as soon as someone feels powerful enough to pk us all on our 227th Baal run...

But at least our chances are better than in random pub runs.
