crescent moon for tesladin

what would be the ideal base weapon to make the crescent moon runeword in for my new tesladin? i was thinking a ettin axe, because the speed is higher than a berserker. what do you suggest?

-I'm not expert when it comes to tesladins, but I have read on here many times that a phase blade is what to shoot for. Everyone seems to like the extreme quickness of them for more hits per sec. Hope that helps.

I'd also highly suggest a phase blade. Though the dex requirement may be steep, its extremely fast and is indestructable. Meaning no repair costs, and less needed IAS.

You'll be using mainly lightning damage on this build anyway, so the small amount of physical damage you'll lose between a phase blade and another weapon isn't all that important.

I've had a CM phase blade through 3 different Pally builds: 1.09 style fanatic avenger/1.10 Frostzealot/1.10 Tesladin. It has proved to be usefull in each of those builds to varying degrees. Of course, it is best with the tesladin, but each variant saw huge benefits from the ITD and Static Field despite the low one hand damage. Plus it looks pretty cool. If i had my choice, I'd put one on every pally I make, unfortunately the um runes are pretty tough to find. I've got 2x 3 socket phase blades waiting on mules though.

Im currently working on a Frostindin and going to use a creasent moon wep.
Im guessing thats a good wep to have and you have mentioned it works well to.

cm phase blade is 2nd to none with the tesladin build, and only invest in this char if you already have lots of ias, because even though zeal looks fast with the phase its not that close tot he ideal 5 fps for zeal

I don't know if you were trying to say something different but a crescent moon phase blade (-30) without fanaticism already reaches 5 fps zeal without extra IAS because the weapon itself has 20% IAS. If you want to get it to a 4 fps zeal that will require an extra 55% IAS on top of the 20% on weapon (75% total).
