Best shield for exile?

So what kind of shield would u choose to make exile in? :scratch:

sacred targehas the better %block and less req than the rest, close behind sacred rondache (0.5 more smite damage)
zakarum has a balance between defense & a good smite damage (46-46), but also 130ish str req
IMO there is no "best", just pick one with a str req close to the other gear (and ethereal, of course)

I second that. Sacred rondache does more damage than other shields with respectable defense and low str reqs. In most cases, there is no "best" equipment, but when referring to smite shields, it is tough to beat a sacred rondache

The main reason for using exile is DEFENSE; everything else is secondary. So Vortex has to be top choice.

yup vortex can have up to 1.2k+ deffense. The best choice of all pally sheild but as rare as they come with good mod thats probably why they are so expansive if want to get a good one have to save up now :)

I cant beleive people are actually trying to compare smite dmgs on elite pally sheilds.....are you guys dumb?

Let me point something out:

Sacred Targe (22-70 Smite) - 46 Avg Smite Dmg
Sacred Rondache (35-58 Smite) - 46.5 Avg Smite Dmg
Kurast Sheild (10-82 Smite) - 46 Avg Smite Dmg
Zakarum Sheild (46-46 Smite) - 46 Avg Smite Dmg
Vortex Sheild (5-87 Smite) - 46 Avg Smite Dmg

Notice a trend here?

In case you didnt catch it...they all do the same average smite dmg (sacred does a negligible 0.5 more). You should choose your sheild based off defense. The best Exile sheild is a Ethereal Vortex Sheild. I personally like the smite dmg on it best anyways, has highest max possibly, what can I say, Im a gambler.

Vortex is best defence(the whole reason for exile) and stil can give up to 35 all res.+ its the best lookin pally shield IMO and eth makes it look better so GO VORTEX :winner:

Vortex Sheild (5-87 Smite) - 46 Avg Smite Dmg


If you wear enigma, use Vortex otherwise sac rondache for higher smite + more Vitality.... and 5 min >< ouch, from experience i dont trust min dmg attacks, too inconsistent for me, i prefer higher mind dmg > max dmg, s that way, if low dmg is rolled at least its a huge chunk :)
