yet another question about wolf weps.

hey everyone, been reading for a while but never registered... had a question i couldn't sit on. I'm thinkin of makin a wolf and i wondered if anyone had tried using gimmershreds. this would allow me to carry a shield and have wicked elemental damage as well. If i'm missing something stupid like wolves cant uses throwing weps, let me know. I know they can use bows/xbows etc... but maybe i missed a detail. anyway, holler back and let me know whether it would be a worthwhile wep choice. its either that w/ nice blocking or waiting till 84 to use my cryptic axe. thanks

Yeah, if you want the elemental damage, use Baranar's Star. Its lacking IAS.

Baranor for sure if this is pvm you dont really need the blocking anyways it can actually get you in trouble so I would use a 2 hander.

Yeah, for Wolves Hit Recovery is far better than Block Recovery, and if you have a decent ammount of leech, you can easily get by with no shield and little defence.

whichever you decide on there are two options. shaled baranars star and a tiamats rebuke for one handed, ik maul (shale shael or sheal ed/ias jewel) and all the rest of the ik gear you can get your hands on for two handed. as a minimum, ik maul, gloves and belt.

i havent personally tested gimmershreds yet, but if worn with a tiamats rebuke, they shouldn't suck TOO bad.

er.. huh?? common Strid, shifted woofs have superior fbr and fhr. you've been in these forums too long not to know that. Uhm, Shael'ed Stormshield blocks at 5 frames per block, and with little effort,m you can get your hit recovery animation to 3 frames. Thats a big diffrence, IMO (40%).

I doubt he has the 225 str it takes though as he seems to be waiting for TR that requires 165 or something :cheesy:

But like the others said, look for something two-handed for pvm, shields are just annoying unless you have some botd one-hander or something waiting..
