suggestions and changes for my pally build

this is probably the first time i ever touched a pally and i just decided to come up with several items and skills to get feedback on them.

my current items
190 Herald of Zakurum (all around pally shield)
famine berzerker axe (stats are pretty good and has a lot of dmg)
28 maras (resist and +2 skill)
nosferatus coil (i like the 10% slow & 15 ias)
soj
ravenfrost
gorerider
perfect shaft
perfect gaze

skills im aimin at
max zeal
max charge
max smite?
max thorns aura

stats
100 strength(at least)
100 dexterity flat
200 vitatlity (at least)
base energy

for the rest of my stat points im going to be pumping 3/5 into vit and the other 2/5 into strength

the kind of pally im looking for is pretty close to max resists in hell, a character who can tank it out in hell, and a pretty decent dueler that can stand a few shots from other PvP players.

well thats basically it. I'm pretty noob at pally as u can see so give me some suggestions toward my build.

You are going to find that you are spreading yourself pretty thin if you go with those skills. I would suggest that you take a look at the guides at the top of the page under Paladin Guides Thread. There are soo many different pallys, you will probably want to read through a couple of the guides before you decide.

Here is a breakdown of some of the most popular builds:

Zealot
Main Skills: Zeal/Fanaticism/Holy Shield

The Zealot is the quintessential paladin. It is the char that most people think of when building a pally. He will attack insanly fast but imo is fairly gear dependant in hell.

Avenger
Main Skills: Vengence/Conviction/Res Auras(3)/Holy Shield

The Avenger does mainly elemental dmg. He has almost no problems with immunities to his attacks in hell and can have the highest res of any char in the game. Gardian Angel a must for this char imo.

Hammerdin
Main Skills: Blessed Hammer/ Concentration/ Holy Shield

The Hammerdin is the new BurritoZon of 1.10. Very Powerful, no problems with any monster immunes(save for 1) and quite good at just about every area. Popular for pvp although not seen as a classy choice. More like a sorc than a pally really.

Really there are about 15 other pally builds, all vary in thier degree of of difficulty but all are fun. If you want to look at some more builds just check through the guides and have fun.
