Help me and my friends puzzle out the mystery of the ITB of fire claws

According to many tests that others have done and tests that I have done as well, FC seems to be ignore target block.

buuuuuutttt, and that's a big but, in testing in melee duels with and without a shield, we have noticed that fire claws will destroy anyone without a shield very very quickly and when they put a shield on FC seems to miss most of the time.

So why is it that it looks like FC is swinging at air when someone has a shield on and like it rips them when they take the shield off?

It has nothing to do with defense I'm sure. I've tried it on barbarians, and I know for a fact there is no comparable difference between having 39k defense and 37.9k defense.

Is the block animation hidden but they are still blocking?

help me solve the mystery.

I notice the same on my FC druid, I do miss a lot of hits, never see blocking animation, tho without shield its inminents K.O. while with shield it takes ages to hit. Ive tried this vs 15k def barb and myself having 35k AR.

What you say about hidden animation may be is true, may be some1 must compare the number of hits u miss with and without shield in opponent, and draw the % difference up, may be we have a 75% of missing hits?
I know there are out there many people up to test this, me myself is toooo lazzzy and dont have many friends online so often.

It's blockable, just doesn't show the animation.

Anyway, just tell your opponent, that is unblockable, and you just miss alot because of your low AR... (what many WBs infact struggle with) :p
He'll remove his shield and you get to hit at a guy with less defence and no block ... ;)

The working theory my friend came up with last night is that there is a hidden block animation and that it was put in place by blizzard to fix a balance issue with the changed blocking timers and the speed of fire claws.

or it could just be a bug where one half of this schizophrenic game's mind thinks its a spell and the other knows its not and so they compromised with this.

its the thing that has to do with how they changed blocking so blocklock does not occur, they still block, you dont see any animation...thats the beginning and the end of it
