View Full Version : Paladin team

I want to make an 8 man paladin team. Playing right through, just with items we find in game. Only time the character is played without the team is if one member misses a session and needs to catch up level wise. There will be no item grabbing, each item should go to the person who has the most need of it.

The idea is we all have different and complementary auras.

The way I see it is

1) Fanat
2) Conc
3) Conv
4) Holy Shock
5) Holy Freeze
6) Meditation/Cleansing (Cleric)
7) Resists (Vengance with a big range 5 weapon)
8) ????

How does it sound? Anyone interested?

I like the idea it sounds fun. However, because one must play with everyne else, it may become a little too restricting. Especially for those of us who spend hours on end each day playing. But that is just my opinion, even though I am interested.

Maybe even more fun would be to have the different classes play togetheon an 8-man team. A hammerdin, templar, zealot, martyr, avenger, ranger,...and so on all playing together. That team should own just about anythig that comes their way. Just my $.02.

That was kinda my idea, but I was going to leave it up to people what they would be. However it would seem to make sence to do it something like this

1) Fanat (martyr)
2) Conc (Hammerdin?, templar?)
3) Conv (zealot?, elemental zealot?, beserker using passion?)
4) Holy Freeze (ranger?)
5) Holy Shock (ranger?, zealot?)
6) Cleansing/Meditation (cleric)
7) Resist Auras (Avenger to take advantage of all the synergies, final build would be something like Rfire 20, Rcold 20, Rlight 20, Salv 20, Vengance 20, maybe 1 in redemption or 2 in holy shield)
8) ?????

Yiuman,

Don't forget to count in the auras from any/all mercs that could be used with these pallies. A blessed aim merc, might merc, lightning merc, an act 5 tank, maybe a rogue of two(fire and cold) and possibly some casters...etc. I cannot think of a monster or even packs of monsters that this group wouldn't absolutely annihilate.

Now you just have to get all these folks together, good luck.

It's a really cool idea, and I would love to be a part of it, but I don't think I have enough time. :(

myself and my family (consisting of wife, brother & cousin) are actually doing a 4 player paladin team

the characters are:
hammerdin (concentration aura to share, holy freeze merc) - cousin
avenger (conviction aura to share, defiance merc) - wife
cleric (meditation aura (synergized with prayer) & holy bolt to share, prayer merc) - brother
tesladin zealot (might merc) - myself

we play just as you listed in that they don't grab items - whoever needs it most gets it. westick together like glue. we all share auras (as do our mercs) and we make each other more powerful because of it. we are the ultimate TEAM.

we have everything planned out down to the one hundred and tenth skill point. so far, it's been hard to get the 4 of us online at the same time so we're crawling along at level 20 something so far.

it is however, definitely the most fun i have ever had with diablo

Its very hard to get a 8 player team together. I posted on it a while back about getting a group of Griswold using paladins together. I think I got one interested response. I will make a final post about the team again and hopefully I will get some people to join. USWEST btw.

the eighth spot could be a Defiant/Smiter, great fun to play, a little tough soloing in hell but it would work very well with your group

I had a paladin group about 8 months ago. We made it as far as Act 1 Hell. People started to lose interest, school became a problem and we were getting owned in Hell. We used only what we found with one exception. An Occy dropped from Diablo on Nightmare, so I traded it off for a whole whack of gear for our group.

It's a lot of fun and I met some great people, a few I still talk to today. The hardest part is getting everyone on to play at the same time. We met once a week for a few hours and those who missed had to catch up before they could play the next week.

Good luck!

edit: I still have the website up if you're interested in what we did. http://paladins.sytes.net I'm too lazy to take the page down and it's far from complete.

I would be interested in joining up.......let me know if this is East/West....L or NL. I would most likely be a Frost Zealot.

what about a paladin wearing these gears with conviction aura on:
exile (defiant), beast (fana),

and a might merc with:
doom (holy freeze), bramble (thorns)

20 zeal
20 conviction
20 holy shield
rest in defiance

this paladin has 6 auras. uses zeal as attack.

I think you guys are misunderstanding what the creator of the thread is saying. There isn't supposed to be muling of the sort (unless you're doing the Griswold team). You're supposed to play with ONLY items you've found in the games. So these big Doom and Beast and whatever runewords wouldn't really fly with the whole point of it.

ARK
08-05-2004, 23:30
Yeah you are only sharing the items you find in game with this one. No mule ins whatsoever. However, the Griswold team can only mule in the Gris set at the beginning nothing else.
