i built a hammerdin for pitrunning/pindle, and he isnt living up to expectations :scratch: , i play single player, and so on players 8, i have max resists and block and my hammers do 5k each, just that archers really hurt me and i have no idea how to kill them quickly, ive got 1250 life, and use wiz spike, hoz, shako, skin of the vipermagi and a 15%res all 25% mf ammy, i play players 8 and he had no trouble whatsoever in norm/nm, i think it may be his defence as enemies have 6x% to hit me, dont know what to do so i thought id ask the experts :scratch:

You already solved the problem yourself. Hell players 8 is not for someone to run by them self you need a party (unless you have all elite stuff). Also if you post this same question in SP they will tell you set players between 3-5 players depending how good your char is. Also by looking only 5k hammers is not good what skills did you max? Do you have a merc?

...And find a holy freeze merc if you do not already have one. With the archers in The Pit it comes down to staying on the move and dodging thier arrows. Usually still taking some hits in the process anyway. Having max block also helps 75% is a must. I tend to go through a few full rejuvs when I choose to stay and fight a group of archers with a unique in the mix.

Another tactic is to spin some hammers next to them ( while taking hits) and then run as the hammers finish thier spiral.

You are using Holy Shield before venturing into battle I hope - I do this and the % to hit of the monsters drop dramatically. Put approx. 5 points into it, unless You already have enough + skills items.
My hammerdin in SP does 13k damage (uses the items Ragnarod recommended in his guide).

This is a very good example of skill > items. In the pit you can have the best hammerdin equipment in the world but if you run in a straight line towards archers, sit down and start spamming hammers in one place they will pelt you with arrows for 200-300 per hit. Use vigor to zig-zag near them into position, rapidly switch to conc for a few hammers, switch back to vigor to move around some more, switch back to conc for more hammers, repeat.
