Dear Hammerdins,

I was one of yours when I was young in pre-LOD period :cheesy: . Suddenly, the 1.07 patch doomed me as well as yours by nerfing the blessed hammers. Now, with 1.10 patch, the concentration/BH combo returns. So, it is time for me to revive my hammerdin also.

While I know quite some unique scepters and other weapons like wizardspike are good for hammerdin, does any of you try crafting caster scepter to make a good paladin scepter? Theorectically, it seems excellent mods like +2 paladin skills, huge mana, +fast cast rate, + regenerate mana rare +.... could be gathered in one scepter if you are lucky enough. If yes, please share your experience.

Another technical question is that, while I have tried that the +individual skill mods of the raw material scepter would be destroyed on crafting, I have once experienced that I used a magical scepter without + individual skills to get a crafted scepter with + individual skills (which could not be related to any prefix or suffix if I am not wrong. It was +1 sancutary aura skill). If this is true, then the crafting might give terribly incredible scepters like +2 paladin skills (by prefix) and +3 BH/ +3 concentration (as inbuilt mod for scepter). Am I right?

I have not done this but when you craft all mods are re-rolled now what lvl gets you +2 skills I dont know. I know for +2 on a ammy crafted you have to be at least lvl 92 hope that helps. But one other thing unless this scepter is uber which rolling one is 1 in a million. But also if your doing the caster craft thats only 10% faster cast so HoTo, Wizpike would be way better.

I know there are some other weapons are better. But as mentioned by me, crafted caster scepter has a chance to give a good mix of mods, which most of other elite unique serve the same probably. And the craft scepter is really the "Unqiue". Actually, fast cast rate is not my main concern because it is widely attainable from other standard hammerdin items.

true but you would not be able to hit the 75% fcr

That's a bit of a problem with crafting a caster scepter.. so many of the mods are useless on a weapon which you're not actually going to hit people with. :(

Some nice ones you might get:

Great Wyrm's : +61 to +90 mana
Sapphire/Ruby/Amber/Emerald : +31% to +40% resist to one element
Mechanic's : 1 to 2 sockets
Priest's (of course) : +2 to all Paladin skills
of the Apprentice : +10% FCR

Unfortunately I really don't see anything else that would be useful to a caster like a hammerdin. I think you'd burn through a lot of scepters get mods like "Cruel" and "of the Lamprey" which would normally be great on a weapon.. but not for a hammerdin. :(

As stated above, in view of my strange experience, my particular question is whether the crafting will reroll/destroy/generate +individual skills mod, which are supposingly not related to the prefixes and suffixes. Any person has relevant experience of that
