I posted this in a different thread but here is an update:
xx_XenaWP is currently at level 67 and finishing up nightmare. She's pretty hardy at this point and does not die easily. My valk and a2 might merc help a lot with that. She holds her own in a fight though. Here is my build and equip:
--- SKILLS ---
Inner Sight: max
Penetrate: max
D/A/E :12/12/1
Valk: aiming for 17 with +skills items
Critical Strike: 5-10
--- EQUIP ---
Vamp Gaze
Duress Dusk Shroud
Tiamats /w pdiamond ---> Stormshield
lava gouts (20 ias and chance to enchant increase damage)
gore riders
eth demon limb ---> eth botd zerk
dwarf star
dual leech with resists ring
atmas scarab
string of ears
I guess her blocking is abdominable...or so I have read here. Block animation with anything other than dagger and javelins is incredibly slow.
I am going the two handed maul route. Using an upgraded Steeldriver now. She wear String of ears now..and figuring that a monster in hell only does up to 90 damage apparently (AS stats), I wanted to try a slightly different route. String of Ears gives some DR, and she also wears an ammy of life everlasting and an Ironpelt..that is an additional 44 damage absorbed. I was wondering if enough DR and Damage absorbed wont make me at least Physically immune.
BTW..there is a tankazon thread a few lines down as well with links to "Theamazonbasin" and guides.

Heh, I am going the dagger route, though I am still small.
When going dagger your damage will be outright atrocious(ly low) so you need a hideous amount of IAS and probably some procing stuff too. My daggerzon is aiming at using a Fleshripper.
The ethereal Ghostflame dagger can also be quite hurty though.
A good midgame stop before Flesh, Ghostflame or Fury(runeword) becomes available will either be:
Malice, 100% Open Wounds.
Or, Heart Carver, though the Barbarian mods will be useless to you.

I use a Tankazon on SCL Asia. Serakwen (Bloodmaid) is a Berserk Zealazon, currently lvl 94 and climbing. When I finally tire of lvling I will be writing a guide, and have in fact already started...it does seem I have gone a little against the grain in terms of the way most people appear to build Tankazons, but anyway. I use the following:
69% Kira
Seraph's Hymn
Passion Cryptic Sword
+2 Arkaine's Valour (currently trialing Duress Balrog Skin...hmm life and skills or increased damage, hmmmmm) if i ever get a damn BER I will upgrade to Chains of Honour
Pdiamond Stormshield
Laying of Hands (Dracul's Grasp for pvp)
5% BK ring
11% :( Verdungo
Carrion Wind
Goreriders
Switch:
Gimmershred
Spikethorn
Trialing Fleshripper for pvp but have only used it once (sucessfully :))

Doesn't she has problem with her slow block rate when facing hordes of archers or fast-hitting meleers?
That was what I am wondering as well. With anything other than jav or dagger it actually is..but maybe with enough DR it does not matter..and you can always cast Slow Missiles ahead..its about the only skill you can use :)

I cant see how any Tankazon not using Stone or Guardian Angel armor and having shaels in their helm and shield can survive in hell if they use one handed non-dagger/jav weapons. I had a lightsabre weilding tankazon with a tiamats and i couldnt even solo hell due to the godawful block animation. By the time the animation had finished i was either dead or really close, literally took around 3-4 seconds to finish.

I was thinking of putting points into Strafe and then every other point being passive. What do you think would be good for me?

I don't have a noticable problem with the slow block rate. Perhaps because my Dodge is almost as high as my % to block.
As for the archers, yes they can cause problems but that is mainly due to Avoid in my case, however this is nothing that slow missiles and a well-placed Decoy cannot counter.
Fast hitting melee monsters are never really an issue for me, unless they also have Holy Freeze (Grrr I hate that aura:(), because of Passion's much maligned Hit Causes Monster to Flee mod. I have used this on various pieces of equipment all the way through the game and found it nigh on essential, especially in areas such as Flayer Jungle where it is easy to get quickly surrounded. Rattlecage served me very well for a long time (and also had some juicy Crushing Blow too).
Drytchnath:
If you look at my equipment you will see that I have more FHR than can be provided with Shael runes, on top of which I also have a few FHR charms in my inventory.
I strongly suspect that the reason you couldn't survive in hell was BECAUSE you were using LS and Tiamat. I briefly tried LS and found it to be useless in comparison to my Passion. Just because it is fast does not make it good - I also borrowed a Passion Phase Blade from a friend and its max damage was less than my minimum, so thats not a good choice IMO either.
Tiamat I never even bothered with as I knew from past experience it would get me killed everytime it cast Hydra - I used a rare lvl 12 Large Shield with 30% FHR until I could equip SS. Even with 59% Dodge I still get hit and would much prefer 35% DR over the tiny amount of elemental damage that Tiamat's provides. An upped Tiamat may be appropriate for a LF zon that is rarely if ever in melee range, but there are other, much better, ways to add to your damage without having to resort to that shield. If SS is out of your price range then Spike Thorn also has DR, which is why I have it on switch.
