Eth Phase Blade for Botd?

Im startin a sword WW barb and im tryin to make plans on wut to use. I was wondering if anyone uses and eth phase blade botd for their sword. Without having much expericence with barbs i think the ias would be awesome because phase blade's base is -30 and with botd its -90 hitting 10fps attack. I think this may offset the damage facter of only 31-35 on non eth phase blade. Is this realistic or not? You can go ahead and laugh at me if im crazy :lol:

or would an eth colossus blade be better?

ethereal phase blades can only exist in rare and unique form if upgraded from ethereal crystal swords or dimensional blades

since you can't upgrade normal items it would be impossible to come by an ethereal phaseblade that was runeword ready

the closest thing you could get to a phase blade in terms of base speed is war spike -10 which would do 45-72 one handed if it were ethereal

just thought id clarify, phase blades dont exist plain ethereal, but you can have an ethereal phase, if you upgrade a crystal sword, or dimensional blade which is rare, or unique and ethereal, you can upgrade to eth phase, but alain is right that you cannot make an eth botd phase

According to some unconfirmed rumours the Single Player code was a bit freaky back in 1.08 / 1.09. Obviously some ethereal bows / phase blades was dropped back then. But nothing on realm. Just hear-say though. Nothing I've ever seen myself.

As for weapon. A Berserker Axe has the best average (for a 1-hander) and higher damage than a Colossus Blade per se. Only drawback would be that you can't switch it to a 2hander for more massive damage. But for the *really* rich fellow one should probably get an Ethereal 2hander of some sort (range 5) for best result...

Ooh, both Col. Blade and Berserkers have range 3. Only thing speaking against Berserker Axe is (part the 2handed thingie) the fact that it has very low durability. But since we're talking an Indestructible runeword... who cares about durability?

Besides, Phase Blades has crappy range in comparison. If you want to make neat phase blade (nice for off hand dual swing perhaps) try a 6-socketed phaser with tons of shaels or stack on Crushing Blow, and slap 4 x eth runes in your weapon... hrm. Not really the best options for the barb though...

I've not checked the calculations now, but for whicked fast Frenzy weapons try: 2 x Fury Phase Blades.

Heck, even 2 x BotD Phase Blades should be pretty fast.

Or, 2 x Azurewrath. Many Frenzy barbs used Dual Baranar's or Dual Schaeffers, and quite a lot used Dual Lightsabres...

imma sword barb remember so im not gonna use berserjker axes. so wut were saying is the col sword is ok for botd. And i assume that gf and doom etc arent good enough.

Col SWORD = 5 sockets
Col Blade = 6 sockets

Yeah, they're right Butter, the sword only gets 5 sockets, the blade gets 6. You might wanna check your information again.

Yes. It's true. You will notice some other things that are funny about The Crystal Sword, Dimensional Blade and Phase Blade. And that is, that the reqs for a Crystal Sword and Dimensional Blade makes some sense. The Dimensional Sword has higher reqs than the Crystal Sword. Both Strength and Dexterity wise. But the Phase Blade suddenly drops the strength req to basicly none, and has a higher dexterity req. That, and the fact that the Weapon Speed for the two previous are 0, and the later is -30.
