I am building a LF Java (havent decided on doing a switch with WWS or PJ); but am curious on what everyone does with their socket quests.

My gear:

Titans
Smoke Great Hauberk
PDimonded Mosers
Kira's
Silkweave
and trying for TGods (SoE now)

I have an up'd Vipermagi that I used for my Sorc and could socket that and the Titans for my Zon. I only have low runes, so things about Fal are probably not gunna happen :hanky: IAS Jewls, Runes, Gems??

Commnets?

Well, for one, you can't socket javelins. Other than that, I don't know if I'd socket Kira's at all since there are better helms that do pretty much the same thing (see Crown of Ages) but better.

I generally don't socket ANYTHING until I know it's an item that I'm keeping until the end.

i have to agree with GenXCub - leave them until as late as possible as you may change your mind about equip etc, but u only have the Kira's to decide on, so firstly make sure its a good kiras (50-70 res all), as there is no point putting good jewel/rune in a crappy helm. Plus there are many other helms u may consider aswell.

but i usually ptopaz everything :D

Thanks, didnt know you couldnt socket Javs.

The Kiaras is 64%, but is the best I have. If I ever found a CoA I'd use it on my pally. Since I can get a Rfrost (how people have a million I'll never understand) and thought the cant be frozen + res is nice.

I wouldnt do PT's becuase I use a sorc to MF, just want the zon to kill (and boy do they!).

I think it may use the Vipermagi (spend an Lem+Ko on it so I dont want to ket it go) in 1 socket quest, is it worth an IAS jewl? Would it help much, I think I will use Jab to kill of LI's.

A comment regarding enhanced damage jewels I picked up from the Barb forum. The ED jewels are "bugged" when inserted into armor and work "as intended" when placed in weapons. So that IAS/ED jewel would be best placed in the weapon/bow rather than helm or armor. Is this true? I don't know. But I would keep it in mind if I was lucky enough to find something real, real special.

I traded for an Occy with a cold facet jewel. It reduced targets cold resist by x%, some cold damage added. I am not so sure it really translated to the sorc's cold spells and makes me wonder if the intent was for the modifier to work with striking the target with the Occy itself.

Someone reading this thread might have a better idea of how those things work.
