Hello, I decided to make a WW mf barb, but I cant seem to decide what weapon I should use, I was thinking either: Perfect Tomb Reaver with 3 sockets or a BOTD CB 2 handed. I have a 382%BOTD eth cb with 12%leech, but then again a perfect Tomb Reaver would be awesome because of its Resistance and MF. So let me know what you guys think is better for WW mf Barb that's strictly PvM.
Thank You

Tomb Reaver

It is a better balance. Zod Shael Shael, though I dont know about the break points, would be a good setup in an ethereal one.

Zod Shael Shael? First of all it's not ethreal O.o And you would go with shael, ist, ist imo for mfing.

Well, if its not Eth, then BotD is bigger in damage.

And why are you making a barb for mf... O_O

I guess if you use both. Keep BotD for getting to your mf spot and then use the Tomb Reaver to off your mf target.

Its not Ethereal, and I would put in an ias/%dmg jewel, amn, and ist. I'm making a mf barb because I'm tired of casters, and I also like the hork skill. My barb will have Enigma so I dont have to worry about walking to the places and I wouldnt want to have reaver as my switch, I want warcries on my switch, because I dont want to keep reminding myself of switching before the monster dies. So its either using Reaver with the sockets I suggested or BOTD.

I like mf barbs. I know that mercs are a pain but when you equip your merc with tals armor and tomb reaver and let him make the kill while you stand there with dual ali baba's there is a huge mf differential compared to you using the reaver.

For mf Baal runs I prefer to walk to get there. You can't hork Baal, and it's hard to hork the uniques among his minions since they are usually the last to go down. I find that I am getting my best stuff from either Baal or from the champions and uniques I kill and hork on the way to the Throne of Destruction. I try to let the merc make the kill on all of those.

Are you suggesting maybe then to forget having WW as my skill and go with frenzy and let my merc do most of the killing? Upgrading ali baba's and putting in the right stuff in the sockets and using them as my main weapons? Would up'ed ali's be good enough for a frenzy barb? We're getting into a different topic now, but I'm curios if WW with tomb reaver is good for PvM or should I change my mind and do Up'ed Ali's for a frenzy mfer. Remember, I hate worrying about switching for more mf before the kill, I just wanna kill and hork. Forget switching for me. Its either Tomb Reaver or BOTD (for ww) or Up'ed Alis (for frenzy). My question for the Tomb Reaver or BOTD was basically if Tomb Reaver was good enough in hell, or will I have problems killing monsters.

I am not sure that ali's will not make good kill weapons but I can say that I no longer see anyone using them on the realm in that manner which leads me to say that they probably are not.

I can't speak as to whether reaver is adequate as your primary weapon, but more to the notion of maximizing mf for your kills. Barbarians are efficient killers, but not necessarily fast killers. I was saying that I let my merc do the kills that have the highest potential return (Champions and non-PI uniques). By letting him do it, I get 88%+24% mf from Ptopaz tals, 70% mf from his reaver, and 92% x 2 mf from my dual ali baba's. Thats 366% extra mf that I would not have acting if I did not equip that way. For big groups or PI's, I swap to the big gun and kill away and don't worry about the mf at that point. That also means that for horking I have an additional 184% mf that I would not have it I was using warcry spears (which is not a huge difference between what you would have with the reaver and the ist). This is kind of a chicken and the egg question. Do you prefer the better chance that your hork will be successful if you switch over to your +6 to warcries spears for horking or do you prefer that your horks are less successful but that when they do occur they have a greater mf acting upon them.

A perfect reaver with a ist in it would definately be a nice weapon from the mf side if it will kill at a decent pace.

your mf counts towards your mercs mf?

mercenary kills get the benefit of both your mf and theirs.
