First off, this post took me over 1 1/2 hours to compose, (a lot of it I would have done anyways) but please respond, even if its only a minimal comment

Ok, I love ranged attacks. My first original d2 character was a bowazon and I had tons of fun with her. Unfortantaly, Ive come to realize (after making 3 of em) that bowazons are one of the worst classes (killing speed/survival wise in .10). So after looking through all the other classes I found the assassian.

My focus is on end game, hell. I want to be able to MF resonably well (I know it wont be as fast as a sorc), stay alive, and have fun.

Most importantaly, I want to be able to solo in a multiplayer game pretty much anywhere, knowing that some areas will be faster than others.

I have mostly unlimited resources for gear.

Was thinkin this for my assassian.

She would be focued on killing mainly with lightling sentry, but could also kill at a descent rate with blade furry. She would also, relly hevaily on her SM to tank, but would be able to take some hits if she had to. Dex would be high for blocking + AR. Resisnts would be descent, but not maxed since she wouldnt be in direct combat very much.

Now some questions....

I went with the untraditional BOTD axe as a weapon for.
1. Gives good LL, freeing up other slots
2. Has the highest dmg of any 1h weapon Ive found.
3. Gives - deffense

Are there any claws that can approcah this kind of damage?

I was also thinking that if I could fing a high damage claw, then I could go dual claws FT, then I would add points to WB, giving me about a 56% chance to block almost everything, as opposed to a 72% chance to block meelee hits.

Iis it worth putting points into blade furry? or does the additinal mana cost make it detremential. If no points, what skill should I add the extra ones too.

And finally, will I be able to to well in....
Hell A4, A5 General
Hell Diablo
Hell Meph
Hell Baal
Hell Ancients.

Also a few of the equipment pieces I dont have yet (mainly the claws). Are rare +3 trap claws hard to get?

1. I dont really know for sure.........seems like if your going hybred u would go 2 chaos claws........but whatever...
2. Bumping isnt allowed, and you didnt even need to bump it.

I dont see the point in using botd, you wont be dealing much damage at all...

The damage from the botd wont be huge, but Im hoping it will be enough to kill LI's with the help of my shadow. Also, it will give me something to do from a distance wile my traps do there thing.

The BOTD will give you something to do from a distance? How so?

Through BFury.

Ziacle: IMO, I'd save troubling yourself with a BotD Berzerker with a Trapper...you'd have to switch your weapons to a pair of +3 Trap claws when casting Traps(or you'll end up with a severe disadvantage in terms of your Trap damage, which is the main source of your damage), so I suggest a max FB instead of your SM(I'd leave SM at 1, and let +skills increase it to a suitable level), so you'll have an effective LI-killer without having to switch your weapon.

Even if you're going to use BFury, don't put more than one point in it, as the natural damage progression isn't worth the skillpoint cost.

Well, if you're willing to go hybrid, Dragon Talon might be good.

1 point in blade fury is more then enough additional points add to the mana cost and only add a few points to the total damage.

If you are going to be using fade as an aura go ahead and pump it up fade has a 1% per lvl PDR associated with it so having it at lvl 20 or higher is benificial.

Since you are using bladefury and are already taking a 25% decrease in damage done by using bladefury don't worry about getting a claw with higher damage worry more about getting %ctc items and CB items to cause large damage.

Yea, after looking at the dmg from add points in blade furry I realized its not worth it at all.

What is %ctc?? CB Im assuming is crushing blow, which gives a chance to double the damage. But, if my botd is allrdy doing double the damage of next highest claw, wouldnt the botd be better?.

I though about going hybrid, but I want to avoid meelee contact at all costs, as I dont have huge DR or resists.

One more question.....how hard is it to get +3 claws? Ive asked around abit, and havent found any yet. Curentaly I have some unique +2 claws that I found (forgot what there caleed)

Thanks for all the advice, so far this is the funnest character Ive ever played. Ive descided that Cloak of Shawdows is the single best one point skill in the game.

Finally, the other nice thing with a high dmg weapon for blade furry like botd, is that with a couple hits, I can instantaly refill my life bar, allowing me to tank somewhat.

Also, I like switching weapons, its eaiser on the hotkeys. Since I only have traps on the hotkey set for my swap, it frees up spaces or other things that I need to hit quickly. Plus, I would still have to switch anyways because, I like having a shield for the resists and blocking.

By this post it looks like you're getting Crushing Blow and Deadly strike mixed up. Crushing blow decreases your opponent's health by 1/4th while Deadly Strike doubles your damage.

IMO the best blade fury sin weapon is Stormlash since it casts static as well as has crushing blow.

However since it's you're back up for lightning immunes you may want to ignore the static and go with a cheaper weapon with better crushing blow. Cranium Basher has the highest chance for Crushing blow. Windhammer may do you well since the twisters will slow the baddies down.

The rune word Chaos is tempting for the magic damage and the Frozen Orb.

Azurewrath supposedly works well for both the magic and the cold damage and a bonus is the Sanctuary aura since a lot of lightning immuned are Undead the knock back is nice.

Of course if you're poor the Rune word Black is a great starting point. Also, the rune word Malice is great to use in conjunction with a good merc.

Personally if you're as rich as you say you are then have your merc be your 2nd form of damage. Trick him out with lots of crushing blow equipment and let him go to town (guillame's Face, Rattlecage, and Hone Sudan).

Lastly... +3 trap claws... Try jumping in and out of the red portal in NM and shop from Anya. For Sorces and +3 tree skills they recommend doing it in NM at lvl 50 or so... It should be the same for Sins.

*aside: there is a Trapsin guide in the Strategy Compendium that Naliworld was referring to when they mentioned Fire Blast... at any rate I'm pretty sure you killed a kitten (at the very least).

You probably want to put some of those extra points in Fire Blast. Even if you never intend to use it for LI/PIs, having 4 or 8 real points in it will add extra shots to your Death Sentry. I've found that the difference between a 5-shot DS and a 7-shot DS is significant in really crowded situations (like the courtyard of Nilathok's temple and many of the furballs you'll get in act IV).

I'm curious how this will work for you, as I did buy Blade Fury for my pure Trapsin but haven't really tried equipping to use it.

There is a blade fury trapsin guide in the stickies.

Static being cast is very nice, because it cuts down by a %, as does crushing blow, which also helps a lot. blade fury doesnt matter on weapon speed after the first blade is out, your resists could use some work, and fade is a godsend in hell mode. Good luck and have fun with your assasin.

Yes actually shop. I'd buy the +3 traps but I'd look for +3 Traps + 3 lightning or Charged bolt sentry. You'll get more damage out of that than any rare or unique that you may gamble.
