A BoTD Alternative

I was looking through the threads and found about botd, but no alternatives for the deadly weapon. Speaking PvP WW Barb terms, is there really an alternative to a BoTD? Because I don't want to trade my Enigma in for a BoTD and I'm not sure I can afford one atm :/ So I was wondering if theres a cheaper alternative, playing by FD rules if theres any weapons that have specific mods that are banned..

No, i'm new to the barb forums and even i know that there's just no subsitute. It's like the wf's of 1.10. In fact I'm kinda skeptical on whether or not i should make a non-eth ones, considering that ethreal zerk botd's do so much more damage.

The Doom runeword is a good alternative too. All you need with Death Cleaver and Doom is enough ar and life.

Nothin can compare to BotD, but some options could be viable, though not many. Death Cleaver, Runemaster can be quite deadly if they are ethereal and when Runemaster has the right (really expensive, perhaps more expensive then a BotD) sockets. The other expensive runewords aren't really FD-ish, Doom has HF aura and Beast has fana. Other runewords would work but those are themselves really expensive (Hands of Justice, Eternity, Famine). Kingslayer has some nice mods but the damage is rather low, even my perfect Kingslayer BA has rather low damage. But the -target defense, open wounds and Crushing Blow might help a bit, and its rather cheap (although DTalon sins are a lot better with it ^_^). My advice: be happy with a mediocre barb, dupe all those runes (!??!!) or make a Bone necro with Marrowalk :p

Doom has the cham rune requirement, and my chances of cham aren't exactly high either :(

As for Deathcleaver, whats the price of it?

And what other gear would be viable? As in the armor et c

On US East sc ladder I gave a cold skill g. charm for a 272% D. Cleaver and a Mal rune for a 280% one.

Upgraded Toothrow, Guillames Face, Verdungos, Gore Riders, IK Gloves

I think I might do the bk ring/raven combo, or maybe even duel ravens as I want to use the highlords :)

As for Upgraded Toothrow, interesting, got an eth toothrow and it hits 1.2k, would the upgraded toothtrow be able to stand up against other babas with its defence?

Guillames Face for all the incredible damage mods :D Gore riders, same. Ik gloves, for the mods it holds? Wouldn't steelrend/draculs be good? And verdungos, yeah that sounds nice. And using storm for shield right.

A bunch of 3/xx/xx? There not exactly cheap ><

Better than botd? Possibly blood weapon crafts, beserker axe of course. Possible, but not likely...

Blood mod +20 life

510% ed = 146-433 (290 avg)

2 Lo runes and your set I guess. Or 2 ohm, increses dmg to 170-504 (337 avg)
