What's the highest defense you've seen on a Barb?

I was wondering how high you could get your defense

Max Shout
Max IronSkin
Max Concentrate
Max BO

Then really good defensive gear, but also taking into account plus skills

Then also taking into account a Defiance Merc.

Then last thinking about using a BEAST Rune word on weapon switch.

As an aside, does Wolfhowl mask work with WB on BEAST RUNEWORD????

Yah, I knew that Wolfhowl wouldn't be a good defensive item. I Should have put the whole Wolf howl question in a second thread.


First, I just wasn't sure if BEAST had Lycanthropy on it. I checked; it does.

I think it can stack up to plus three. But I'm not sure what would happen if you had a +6 Lycanthropy Wolfhowl and then equiped a BEAST weapon for an additional +3. I don't know what that would do.

maximum insanity is perf defense eth sacred armor with perf stone runeword in. I woked out its def abit bck, I think it is about 3800 def :o

with godly def gear I am gessing that you could get 50k (just)

Paladins are getting to 87,000 with max Holy Shield and Max Defiance

All that defense won't help you one bit against elemental attacks. Since those are the most dangerous in the game, what's the point of such montrous defense? Also there's a few monsters that ignore your defense completely.

My barb usually hit about 30K Concing, that is pretty good.

My Wolfdruid will lack in def do to 2H weap, so I'm wondering what Kind of life I'll be looking at.

He has 134 Base Str, 70 Base Dex, rest in Vit :cheesy:

Only lvl 40 something and is close to breaking 1K life. :thumbsup:

My Iron Barb will break 4K Life and have about 25-30K while Concing.

It's all a balance as well. A barb with that kind of Def would have crap for res... so, yeah.

Well, I've seen barbs hit about 27k-35k when using the attack Concentrate, with shout, iron skin etc... I've seen a paladin hit about 50k with holy shield, defiance, shout etc... So i guess its all on the equipment, and the type of character you are playing IMHO.

my lvl 84 ww barb has 338xx def with max shout and slvl7 (base) iron skin. with conc i think it hits 43-44k not exactly sure cuz when i was lvl 82 my conc gave me 42kdef.

thats 5.7k to base defense right there + iron skin + shout = >40k
