Which is better? -%enemy Light resist or +%light dmg

Hi, I was wondering which is better for a light javazon?
-x% enemy lightning resistence
or
+y% lightning damage

Also, whats a good amulet for a Lightning javazon?(maxed LF,CS) And can anyone recommend anything better than lionheart for armor?

PS. I just did my first 2 trades today and was wondering. is a 19/11 griphon diadem worth more/less than fire skill charm + crappy gaze? USEAST LADDER.

Let's say, for sake of simpler math, that your LF does 1000 max lightning damage. Let's also assume that you have a choice between +20% lightning damage or -20% enemy lightning resistance.

Your new damage againts 0% lightning resistance monster is:
+20% to lightning damage: 1000 * 1.2 * 1.0 = 1200
-20% to enemy lightning res: 1000 * 1.0 * 1.2 = 1200

Againts 25% lightning resistance monster is:
+20% to lightning damage: 1000 * 1.2 * 0.75 = 900
-20% to enemy lightning res: 1000 * 1.0 * 0.95 = 950 (+5.5%)

Againts 50% lightning resistance monster is:
+20% to lightning damage: 1000 * 1.2 * 0.5 = 600
-20% to enemy lightning res: 1000 * 1.0 * 0.7 = 700 (+16%)

Againts 75% lightning resistance monster is:
+20% to lightning damage: 1000 * 1.2 * 0.25 = 300
-20% to enemy lightning res: 1000 * 1.0 * 0.45 = 450 (+50%)

As you can see from the above examples, the more the monster has base lightning resistance, the better the -xx% lightning resistance is. However, it's very difficult to give a general answer to your question, because it greatly depends on your existing gear and the actual figures of +xx% damage and -yy% resistance.

Better than Lionheart? It's a tough one, what are you looking for in your armor? Chains of Honor is like the upgraded form of Lionheart - pretty expensive tho.

If you have Eaglehorn I'd suggest going for Strafe, I got a LF/CS/LS/Strafe amazon which can solo most of hell with ease. :)

jek i want a zon like what you have, what are your skill point distributions? I already have maxed LF/CS, none in bow. 1 to the 2 right colomns in passive. have skills saved..

I need resists! Thats why I chose lionheart, my hell resists are at about 5-20, with lionheart I would be at 35-50 and if I can find some small charms, I'm set.

Problem being I have 2 x hel runes, 1 x IO but no fal or lum. And people don't seem to be parting easily with their fal or lum's on USEAST ladder, I even posted in the trade forum trying to trade for them! =\

Unless you desperately need the stats from Lionheart you might want to look into Skin of Vipermagic for a cheap replacement. Duriel's Shell is a very good armor too - especially if you got with a defiance mercenary (however with strafe as a backup skil you'd probably want a might). Gold Skin is another cheap and effective replacement, the 100% extra gold isn't half bad either.

My strafe/lightning amazons skill:
20 Strafe + 4 Pre-reqs
11 Valkyrie
1 all other passives
20 Charged Strike
20 Lightning Fury
15 Lightning Strike

My +skill gear:
+2 passive gloves
+2 amazon amulet
+1 Anni
+1 Passive Grand Charm

Something to remember, with your planned end-game gear it's important to remember which numbers charged strike gets another bolt, in my case I felt comfident with level 25 - gains one extra there. :)

The reason I went with level 1 pierce and 1 penetrate is pretty simple, pierce was taken care of with Razortail+Items and penetrate was not needed as I planed to use Eaglehorn. :)
