I'm stuck, I know C/S is best for melee and most likely I will be dueling against melee characters except for those darn trapasins  But which should I do for sure. I did read the guide in the Strategy Compendium but still kind of unsure atm. Getting any items shouldn't be a problem so thats not a limiting factor at all. I do have some used points as of now, they are as follows
Lvl 92 Sin
Strength 110
Dex 72
Life Base
Energy Base
Tons of unused points just waiting to be distributed
Also another question I have is how viable would my character be if I did both C/S and C/C? I'm thinking if I had a few xtra skill points I could allocate them to claw block
Any Help will be greatly appreciated

PVM: C/C
PVP: C/S versus melee chars, C/C versus casters.
It is possible to have maxed block with a shield and 60% WB on switch for casters, if your a pvp char.

What would be a good set up if I want to use C/C and C/S for the different situations of dueling
what type of build?

Not sure what you mean by what type of build c-beat, could you elaborate a lil for me
Even for melee it isn't necessarily a bad idea to go C/C; You're not getting +2-3 skills on a Stormshield, and the huge number of stat points you'll have to dump into Dex isn't doing you any good when you're wearing that second Claw against Casters anyway. Not to mention Smite (if you can call that melee X) is blockable with Weapon Block, and you have full Block while running unlike with a Shield. If you're near a breakpoint, Jade or Bartuc's 30% FHR give you one frame less as well, which is an important thing against melee. Extra bonus if you're lazy. =P Unless you sub Jade for Bartuc's against melee... =[
SS still has 15% more blocking maximum (not necessarily, but getting over 60% on WB in wasteful [even 56% imo =P]), and the guaranteed 2-quicker-frames block is definitely worth more than the possible-1-quicker-frame FHR. Due to this it's still not a bad idea to go C/S, just know your advantages and your disadvantages by doing so.
That said... There's not much to say on switching between C/S and C/S. Make sure you've enough Dex for max Block and... that's about it. Go up against Barbs? Switch out that Jade for the Stormshield and you're ready to go. Throw on the SS against a Pally, and he was FoH? Whoops... well just throw the Jade back on and try again. =P And vice-versa.
Sheesh you must have a LOT of unused skillpoints, just having that much Str/Dex and BASE Vit. ._. Level 92 at that, you must be damn crazy.
And C-Beat... note the name of the topic. X)

Mr E.
Thank you for your comments I will take them into consideration greatly. I still have over 300 stat points to distribute and 30+ skill points to use up. This was a character from .09 that I lvl'd and have just sitting around. However, I'm leaning on doing both C/S and C/C with that said I need to figure out (or help figuring out) what my dex should be. Also does anyone have a good # for life and around what that should be if I'm going to be dueling with this character. I have a good cta for this guy so I wanna take that into consideration as well. My last question will be to figure out what trap(s) to use to stun so I can move in from the kill. Any other comments will be greatly appreciated

203 Dex is needed for MAX Block at lvl 90 with SS. I've yet to test C/S C/C build in duels yet, but my asn is lvl 70 atm. wof is good for stun, 1 pt is enough. as for life, my sin got 2.6k with enigma, with top sins, 3k hp is possible.
