atk dmg vs atk rating

hi. i wanted to know whether or not a higher atk dmg is more important or is higher atk rating the way to go.
trying to decide which bow to use between goldstrike or lycanders. lycanders gives me much more min/max atk-strafe dmg than goldstrike. but goldstrike has about 1700 more atk rating. im guessing the to-hit ratio should be considered. im just not sure:(
and i play hc. any help would be greatly appreciated. thx

Normally about 80% chance to hit will do fine. Hover over the attack rating number and you will see what your chance to hit is for the last monster you targeted.

Average damage with high attack rating is ideal because its hard to dish out the damage when you can't hit :)

Also, goldstrike will always do more damage than Lycanders. For some reason, most people just don't get that Goldstrike does great damage, but that half of it isn't posted because it's to Demons/Undead. It really makes a big difference.

thx for the input everyone. had a couple personal msgs sent to me saying that the attack rating is huge, more so that atk dmg. and also a msg agreeing with genxcub about the hidden dmg that doesnt show up on the screen. thx everyone!!

If you use Laying of Hands with Goldy you'll kill demons so much faster, although it doesn't show. 350%dmg to demons, and 20ias. It owns any act boss :lol:
