Look over your shoulder, there is a sticky post - Hal's build of Conc barb.

It is canonical.

sorry, you want a berserk build. I mis-understood you.

Maybe you can look for Cold493's PvM IK build.

your avatar is creeping me out

L*evation asked the same question a few posts down, look for his thread, there isn't much to say, I haven't tried a zerker in 1.10

I posted a 2-handed zerker guide for pvm that is a couple of pages back. 120something views and only 1 reply *sigh.

I'll bump it up, been thinking of a zerker for my next project

there was an older one that got lost in the crash. basic idea was max block to make up for lack of defense, use howl and war cry to stun monsters/split up boss packs.

Is it true that when using berserk as your main attack skill, your def dropped to ZERO??? Its strange when your equipment provides basic def yet will be negate when using this skill? Even when using shout to boast your defense, the extra def provided by shout will be inactive as well?

Here's a berserker guide, brought to you by the same folks (ok, one guy) who brought you the Fishymancer:

http://forums.rpgforums.net/showthread.php?t=126634

Just to warn you up front, it's intended for single-player/PvM only. Hopefully you aren't going to try to build a PvP berserker, since i'm not sure how well that'll work out. Have fun!

yep, all that is true. you can either use a shield to block attacks, damage reduced gear to decrease the damage taken or your warcries to act in place of a shield.

All HC high level pvp barbs are 100% pure berserkers iirc. Works really well since berserk with full synergies gets around 1000% ed and 4xx% AR bonus which with a high damage weapon such as eth botd zerk will knock out almost anything in one hit. Since potion usage is normal in hc pvp, u can just chug down full rejuvs and hit hit hit when u connect its game over for the other guy :).

re: synergies: there are a lot of skills with useless synergies. doesn't make them nor zerk bad. i looked at the linked guide, doesn't fully synergize zerk, so it's losing 200% additional ed.

max ed with zerk is 835%.

i'm kind of split on the 1h/2h thinking. 2h seems to make more sense, as you want to kill everything in one hit. 1h/shield doesn't make sense to me. if you are using war cry/howl, you don't need the shield except against bosses, and cutting your offense by 1/2 or more for 1/50 of the monsters isn't very efficient.

i could see it if maybe you are using an um/pdiamond stormshield, where the additional resists, blocking and phys dam reduce may be worth it. but for blocking and/or resists alone, i don't see it.

or, if you had a botd 1h wep that can kill stuff in 1 hit. if you don't, you are going to spend a lot of time whacking monsters with 0 defense.

also, war cry is very short ranged, and melee barbs generally don't have fcr. seems to me by the time you use it, you have a window where you can get 2-3 swings, then it's over.

The beauty of it is that your number of swings per casting is controlled by you in 2 ways. You can increase you stun duration by adding points into War Cry. At lvl 22 mine is at 5.4 seconds. You can increase the number of hits you get in per cast by increasing your swing speed through the use of IAS. I have a Beast Glorious Axe that I will use as my end game weapon. The level 9 Fanatacism meant that I only needed about 35 IAS to hit 2.5 attacks per second.

20 ias comes from gloves
10 ias from Nosferatu's coil/goldwrap
15 ias in my arreats
