I have a blizzsorc and I need some serious help, I sorta went on my own with this so tell me if it is really worth the time to start over.

Heres the stats(with equipment)
Lvl 78
Str 109
Dex 27
Vit 57
Mana 350(I hate using pots)

Heres the skills(with equipment)
29 Blizzard
29 Cold mastery
Ice blast 17
Glacial spike 14
Ice bolt 10
Frost nova 10
Frozen Armor 10
Shiver Armor 10
Telekinis 8
Teleport 8
Lightning 8
Charged bolt 8
Chain lightning 8
Energy shield 8
Static field 8
27 Warmth(I dont like using pots)

Heres the equipment
Open socket occy
P topazed Skullders
P topazes shako
+2 cold ammy
Lidless
35 war travelers
28, 29 nagelrings
Goldwrap
38 chanceguards

Heres the story:
I die extremely easily, takes maybe a few hits out of anything in hell and im dead, takes a few hits from bosses in nm and im dead. If I tp into monster group im dead. I seem to do efficient damage for nm i do 1.8k with blizz and 700 with ice blast. Hell is another story i can kill, but it takes awhile. I tried getting a merc but I dont have sufficient items to put on him, so he dies literly in seconds. Any suggestions on what to do would help or to just completly start over. Also you can see this sorc was ment for mfing. I also have -80 to all resistances so I sorta get screwed over there.

Ouch! I just shudder when I look at the low vit. and dex. combo. Strength and energy are too high, since those points definitely should have gone into vitality. Also, try pumpin the resists, do anya quests, put on charms, socket items with pdiamonds or jewels, ANYTHING! Maybe with a lot of care this can be taken care of, but I don't totally know personally. A careful rebuild (with this char and the results taken account of) would be my recommendation.

Eh, I can understand the rebuild, but i need the mf so I thought that was a trade off, and I still run out of mana, maybe I should be pumping up energy shield and telekenises instead since i have soo much mana. Im making orc/meteor sorc after but I wouldnt be using that for mfing soo I guess ill just stick with what I got.

Yucks! I got an eye sore just looking at your skill and stats placement.... j/k

Seriously, u have done true injustice to a powerful build. I would strongly advise rebuilding becos u will waste so much more time trying to mf with this sorc. A true blizzard sorc will be the fastest killing machine for non-cold immunes. U will need a holy freeze merc from nitemare act2 to help u tank put away the cold immunes. Absolutely vital for this build. Unless u like tuck tail and run everytime u see cold immunes.

Try this:

Stats
1) Str = enough for equipment
2) Dex = base or enough of equipment,ie. Wizardspike
3) Energy = base but u can place 100 here (if u hate mana pots so much)
4) Life = everything else

Skill Placements
1) Ice bolts - max (last to max)
2) Ice blast - max (4th to max)
3) blizzard - max (1st to max)
4) Glacier spike - max (3rd to max)
5) Cold mastery - (2nd to max)
6) Warmth - 1 point
7) Telekenisis - 1 point (prereq)
8) Frozen armor - 1 point or 0
9) Shriver armor - 1 point or 0
10) Teleport - 1 point
11) static - 1 point

Don't put points in energy shield because it is normally counter-productive for teleporting thru duriance 2.

Besides ur skill placements flaws, you also have poor choice of equipment which means poor fcr and poor resist. Here's what I suggest:

Open socket occy - can socket with fhr/resist jewels or IST
P topazed Skullder - replace with viperskin and socket with UM
P topazes shako - OK
+2 cold ammy - OK, but u should look to use the tancred ammy + boots for 78% mf. Can replace with mara once u obtain one.
Lidless - ok, socket with p diamonds
35 war travelers - Use rare boots with resist and frw. Replace with tancred boots when u get tancred ammy.
28, 29 nagelrings - replace with SOJ or +resist/life/mana rings, keep if ur resist is enough.
Goldwrap - ok
38 chanceguards - replace with frostburns or keep if mana is sufficient for ur taste.

This build will give u sufficient resist and fcr (63) for teleport.

Ur problem is largely due to MF vs resist/killing power. U need to get ur basics right. U can switch to higher MF gear once u have mastered MF techniques.

Good luck

I think im just gonna start over and make a meteor/orb build and use the guide, i can trade in my stuff for complete talls set, need a ss, and ill be using raven frost and dwarf star as rings making me have around 300 mf +6 to all skills, lots of resistance, and that good extra fire and anti immune cold stuff.

oh, your stuff can get u a complete tal set? for mf, use a rhyme instead of ss. use nagel rings rather than raven or dwarfs. i prefer to have ptopaz shako rather than tal mask. i prefer ali88 or occy rather than tal weapon.

Yah if u read my post on equipment it easily can, also the reason that im doing full talls is for mf and resistance, and raven and dwarf for again resistance and great absorb, i wanted to know if there were any lightning absorb boots or gloves, but maybe not, and ss because of huge dr, nice chance to block, and there just great.

Only problem is that u still have only 50 fcr with tal set. U need to hit that 63 fcr breakpoint to avoid suicidal teleport. In this case I would recommend partial tal set.

1) Partial Tal - ammy, armor, belt
2) Occy / Wizardspike
3) P. Shako
4) WT / Rare Mf resist boots
5) SoJ / Wisp / Nagelring /
6) Lidless / SS

*to go with SS u will need to use wizardspike

or if u insist on full tal set and SS then:

1) Full tal set
2) Rare fcr resist rings x 2 to reach 63 fcr breakpoint
3) WT / Rare Mf resist boots

Reading a guide would be a good idea...

some guidelines to aim for:

75% blocking
40-50% phys dam reduce
75% all resists
lightning/cold/fire absorb
life > mana
63% or 105% fcr

also, you need to get over your pot-phobia. what's worse, leaving ten corpses in one game or refilling your pots every so often?

Well, that is true it just gets annoying especially since mana potions cost 1k gold and sometimes they dont refill fast enough while teleporting. As for fcr 5 fcr small charms would work fine and iv already found one. Also for the SS why would I have to use a wizspike? And the rings are gonna be raven frost and dwarf star, war travelers and chance guards for boots and gloves, although i am looking for lightning absorb boots or gloves at the moment if there is such a thing please tell me.

the reason mana pots don't fill you up is because you have too much mana. there is a max limit to how much a mana pot will give. if say you have 4X as much mana total, it will appear that the mana pot will only give a little, but it is giving its total amount. you can see how much you get by waving the cursor over it.

there is no such thing as an fcr charm. probably you have an fHr charm, which is faster hit recovery.

wizspike gives a ton of mana, resists, and fcr, allowing you to free up other slots. stormshield gives phys damage reduce and blocking. nothing wrong with using both.

your rings and boots are ok, but chance guards suck. i would recommend using magefists, so then with wizspike you'll have 70 fcr, and won't need any more fcr in other places.

there are only 4 sources of lightning absorb: griffon's eye (diadem), wisp projector (ring), tgods (belt), and various weapons. tgods (i think) is the only one with x absorb, vs x% absorb, which is better as the most dangerous lightning damage (gloams) is frame based.

yah sry Fhr charm, also wizspike will stop me from completing the set therefor it is useless. And i know the mana pots fill there maximum amount, but they dont fill that fast im saying usually it all goes away its not even worth it.
