I see people talking about this all the time. I have a few people whom I no longer wish to talk to on B.net. I get messages when they enter or exit bnet, and send messages to others. How do I block these people permanently?? Most are people I traded with and don't even know.Help please.
Thanks for your help in advance. I tried to click the "squelch" button, but it does nothing.....

If you don't want to recieve the messages of them entering/exiting bnet and games, simply remove them from your friends list. (Type in "/f remove accountname", without the quotes, and where 'accountname' is the person's accountname.)
If you want to stop getting their messages, type in "/squelch accountname". Unfortunately, you have to do this every time you log on bnet. The best approach to this, I think, would be to ask them nicely to remove you from their friends list.

Thanks for the quick response. I will do those things. That should take care of it. :worship:
the /o command works well if you don't want to recieve any message from different kinds of people. i.e. people not on your friends list, messages in channels.
just type /o in a channel and it'll bring up a list of things you can do. /o igw makes it so you won't receive whispers from anyone not on your friends list. i forget the other ones you can do, but you can check them out.

Heh, that I don't know, since the only times I've used squelch was in games, where I didn't care if I could make the person angry.
Although, my guess is that the person doesn't see that you squelched him, and all the command does is blocks out messages sent to you. It would make the most sense that way, I think.

Angry won't matter much once they can't talk to you :) Besides, squelching them doesn't squelch their ability to talk to everyone, it just makes the messages not show up on your screen. It has no effect on their communication with anyone else.
/o igw is handy if you play with a select group of people, but don't forget you've got it set.. It's pretty tough to trade with people who can't whisper you. It also puts quite a damper on communications from folks that might have something to say that you want to hear.
Your best bet is to simply ask the person to take you off of their list, citing the disturbance caused by their /f m messages.. Unless they're super-jerks, most people will gladly comply since a friend list can only hold 25 anyways, and most of us could use an extra slot or two for use on folks who DO want to hear us talk.
